Where do I start? Activity at our club is at an all-time high. We ve just completed the 47 th Annual Lowcountry Regatta and what a doozy! It was a fabulous weekend BYSC hosted nearly 200 sailors. Our 100 plus volunteers did an outstanding job both on and off the water. The River Rats once again operated like a well-oiled machine and the on-shore crew excelled in making sure everyone was comfortable, happy and well fed. Kudos to Regatta organizers Chuck and Kristi Rushing for the fabulous time everyone had! Both our Summer Camp and Learn-to-Sail programs are going gangbusters. Many members have commented positively about the programs and particularly about the quality of this year s staff. At the pool our newly formed Swim Team is having a great time with 40 plus participants. Since 2009, BYSC has been fortunate to have David Dixon s smiling face around the club. As Assistant Manager, David has enthusiastically helped BYSC and its members in more ways than we can ever possibly convey, even filling in as acting Manager for several months last fall. However, as things in life go, David has decided to start a new chapter and his last day at BYSC will be July 7 th. Please join me in wishing David and Lora Dixon all the best! Hey ya ll, Summer is burning up fast! Next week we will have Watermelon Wednesday out by the pool at 5:00 PM, please come out and enjoy. Science Night with Nick is scheduled for Tuesday July 16th at 6:00 PM. This time we will be learning about sharks, please RSVP to the office if you want to attend. As Water Festival approaches we will be gearing up for a few big weekends. Next week I will have a numbered sticker available for all members to put on their boat. These stickers will allow you to use the dock and boat ramp. Also we will be issuing gate passes for your guests the week before and during the Water Festival. These passes have to be displayed in their car window to park on the property or to gain access to the club grounds. I want everyone to have a fun safe time and I ll be here every day to do my part. I have a great team here working hard and if you need any help with putting your boat in or taking it out, please don't hesitate to ask. Milledge H Webb BYSC GM
