If you haven t already, please review the 2016-2017 budget and send us your feedback and ideas by April 15th. Event Volunteer Corner 2017-2018 Cougar Run Cooper Mountain is in need of a chair to help plan/coordinate the 2017-2018 Cougar Run. This is the year's biggest fundraiser and we need a team of volunteers to get started. You would have all the support and help needed! This is a great opportunity for a group of friends to work together and raise funds for field trips, parties and more! 2

Cooper Mountain Elementary PTO We are building a great team for the Cooper Mountain Parent- Teacher Organization (PTO) board next year. Join the team whose mission it is to help our school! We ve filled many of our positions but still have the following opportunities available. Parents who take this opportunity to join the PTO board, will be voted in at the April 25th PTO meeting and will take over board responsibilities at the May 30th PTO meeting. Scrip Next Scrip order will be on Monday, April 10th Thank you to everyone who submitted an order last week. The PTO earned $93.00 Spring has sprung and it is that time of year for gardening! The Scrip program offers gift cards to Home Depot, Lowe s and ACE Hardware to name a few. As always, you can use your Scrip cards for all your shopping, gifting and dining needs. Remember that the cards you purchase from Scrip never expire and are great to have on hand for all the places you frequently shop. 5th Grade Updates Calling ALL Cooper Mountain Families! 5th-grade "Bouncing for Bucks" fundraiser at Sky High Sports!!! TONIGHT!! March 23rd from 4:00-8:00 PM Come join the fun and bring a friend or two! It's not just a 5th-grade event, EVERYONE is invited! Don't forget your "Bouncing for Bucks" slip that your child brought home. Here is a sheet of four slips if you need more. One "Bouncing for Bucks" slip per child is needed to get credit for the Cooper Mountain. (FYI-If you are sending your child/children with another adult please find Sky High online and sign a "Jumping Waiver" for your children prior to their jump time.) The contest has been extended to accommodate Spring Break! Submit your Box Tops For Education by April 15th to earn money for our school and prizes for the winning classroom! Please Remember: Submit your Boxtops in a zippered bag or sealed envelope with your teacher's name on it. Send in only whole Boxtops with the expiration date and any acronyms intact. The Cooper Mountain chess club was invited to compete in the Chess for Success state tournament on Friday, March 10. The annual tournament was held at the Portland Convention Center. Chess club sent 7 students: Ryan Lu, Ryan Shandy, Raghavan Narayanan, Evan O'Malley, Mason Lewis, Ashok Mann, and Isabel Shandy. The club placed 4th overall! Great job kids! Ryan Lu and Ryan Shandy also qualified to compete in the Individual Tournament the next day. Ryan Lu placed 2nd overall. What a great tournament! 8

Dining For Dollars Our next Dining 4$ is April 17 and 18th at Pastini. More information and a flyer will be shared closer to the date. Our fundraiser at Pizzicato last week raised a total of $624! Thank you for participating and supporting Cooper Mountain Elementary! Classroom Volunteer Coordinator Corner Our Spring Luau and raffle is sneaking up fast! As many of you know, part of our spring fundraising event, each classroom collects donations that are put into a themed basket that gets raffled off at the event. Below is the list of the themes per grade. Donation bags will be in your classrooms soon and you can begin bringing in your donations as early as next week. Thank You in advance for your support! Book Fair News The official numbers are finally in and our BOOK FAIR was a huge success!! Cooper Mountain families and friends brought in $11,062.35 at our BOOK FAIR which is AMAZING! After all the accounting was completed by Scholastic and all the bonuses added up, Ms. Paul gets to use $6,134.29 in Scholastic dollars! She can use it to buy hundreds of books, educational materials, furniture and so many other things for the library, all from Scholastic. We want to thank each and every one of you that helped make this happen! Thank you to the families and friends who came in to shop and those who shopped online! A special THANK YOU goes out to all the volunteers who came in and helped out! Interested in joining us for our next service project? Just let us know! Saturday, April 8th, 2017. Join us to celebrate Arbor Day with the City of Tualatin and Clean Water Services at the Tualatin Community Park! This planting is part of the Tree For All campaign which has planted over three million native plants in the Tualatin River Watershed in the past decade! Clean Water Services, Friends of Trees, thousands of volunteers, other non-profits, city partners, and private landowners will be working together this season to continue the success of this program. 8:45 am to 1 pm. Parent Ads for 5 th Grade Memory Book! The Memory Book committee invites all 5 th grade parents to purchase a commemorative Ad to your child. The ads will be published in the 5 th grade Memory Book. The money earned through this fundraiser helps pay for the memory book and the end of the year party. Each ad includes a candid picture of your child (that you submit) and 2-3 sentences of congratulations. The message you write can be to your student and/or the entire 5 th grade. The picture needs to be from your child s elementary school years (no baby or preschool pictures). Pictures can be just of your child, of your child doing an activity outside of school (dance, sports, etc.), a family picture, or one with your child and his/her friends. Your choice! Ads cost $7.00.
