We can announce today that Andy will also be moving his Traffic Safety Education Foundation, to Bowling Green, Kentucky. Andy first became interested in road safety in the mid-90 s as a give back project, initially speaking to high school students in FL. Wanting to take things further, he launched The Traffic Safety Education Foundation as an official 501(c)(3) organization in 2008. Distracted driving is a growing epidemic in the US and the main cause for the massive increase in traffic deaths and injuries over the last 3 years. Andy has produced several educational videos to help improve things. They are aimed at new drivers, parents with children of all ages and driver education teachers. President s Message Fellow Cape Fear Corvettes members, I get questions from time to time about some of our policies and thought with so many new members; this may be a good time to answer some common ones. You are not required to drive a Corvette to any CFC function. You can bring a nonmember to any event or meeting. We welcome everyone. We have a Facebook page "Cape fear Corvettes" that all members should sign up for. It is the perfect place to communicate with other members about any car related subject. We welcome all event ideas and hope you will take the lead or assist in planning one. Our web site has a Members rides page where you can put pictures of you, your friends and family and of course you re Corvette. Out Newsletter has a for sale section for you to sell a Corvette or related parts. Send your description and picture to chefpeter@ec.rr.com You need to own a Corvette to join CFC, you do not have to own one at the time you renew your membership. We have an annual Corvette show Sunday September 16, 2018 that we hope ALL CFC members will participate in. It requires many volunteers to make it successful. Areas we need help include registration, judging, parking, 50/50, and your donations to the silent auction. Please help promote our show by printing a flier off of our website and distributing it to your neighborhood, friends and businesses. Thanks for a great start to 2018! Richard Fox

CFC Members Azalea Festival Parade Rules Just to be clear all Corvettes must be prepared to carry a celebrity but we may end up with a few extra cars that wont have anyone to carry. So you can not bring a passenger. Below are some basic rules. Most of all be very nice to all other drivers, parade entries, Queens and Celebrities. Bring with you: - Two (2) towels, one for the queen or celebrity to sit on and one for their feet. - Wear your CFC name tag and shirt. - Cleaning materials - Cooler for water or soft drinks and anything you want to eat. Stay with your car. Be ready to move up at a moment s notice. Help whomever you carry. The one you are carrying will come to you. O.K. for you to have your Cameras and cell phones (but no talking while driving) NO Radios playing or excessive engine revving while on Parade Route. When you are driving, keep your eyes ahead and watch for people crossing in front of you. Don't stop while driving unless the parade unit ahead of you stops. Any Questions please call Richard at (910) 228-1449
