Principal s Message Athletics Congratulations to our students on their performance at the Athletics last Thursday. A special congratulations is extended to Bree, Jukal, Tegan and Kate who all Qualified for the District Zone Sports. Milla and Bree both won the Champion medallion for their age groups which is a great achievement. I was particularly proud of the manner our students supported each other. Clubs We will be commencing clubs at the commencement of term 4. At this stage I have pencilled in Tuesday afternoons but this can be changed if we need to. I would encourage any parents who would like to run a club to contact me. Melbourne Trip Don t forget that we will be departing from Kerang Railway Station at 7:45am on Wednesday and will be returning to Lake Charm Shop on Thursday evening. Mrs Noonan on leave Michelle will be away for the last two weeks of term 3. We wish her well on her extended holiday and look forward to her returning back to Lake Charm in term 4. Healthy October/Walk To School Program Lake Charm Primary will once again conduct a Healthy October Program throughout the month of October. This will involve us in daily exercise at school, healthy eating and promotion of healthy lifestyles. This is a program conducted throughout our Shire and state. We have been asked by the Shire of Gannawarra to officially launch this school program at Lake Charm on Monday 12 th September. Thank you Peter On Tuesday afternoon Peter Cordina mowed the oval and school surrounds. Thank you Peter. Great job!

Mystic Melodies The Mystic Melodies program will continue this Friday. The students have already started to learn how to play the ukulele and are enjoying all the songs and chants that James and Jane are teaching them. Thank you to Kirsty Orr and the Shire of Gannawarra for their support in getting this program to Lake Charm. Book Awards Congratulations to Bree who won a Book Award for her book The Day I Was Attacked By A Guinea Pig

Father s Day Stall The annual Father s Day stall will be held on Friday 2 nd September, the day after we return from the Melbourne Trip. If students would like to purchase a gift, please make sure to bring money on Friday. Gifts will range in price from $0.50 to $5.00. Student Voice The Book Parade Keigan Ballard On Friday we went to the Book Parade. I dressed as a cow. It s a furry costume. We walked around the road. We ate gingerbread men than Erin made. The School Sports Milla Kennedy On Thursday the 25 th of August, the school went to the school sports. The first thing I did was the 200m, then the 50m, then the Long Jump, then Hurdles, then softball throw, Shot Put and High Jump. I did a relay. I got a medal. The school won the sports. I love the sports!!! The School Sports Emily Burrows On Thursday we went to the school sports. We got there by car. In my car there was Jacob, Erin and I. When we got there my heart was pounding and I was so nervous.the sports we did were softball throw, sprints, long distance, high jump, long jump, shot put, hurdles and long jump. First up was softball,l it was really fun. You just have to under arm throw a foam ball out at cones. I got a two because I hit the second cone. Next it was high jump, I got a two. High jump is my favourite sport in the Olympics. To do high jump all you have to do is run around a cone and kick your legs up, throw your shoulders back and land on your back on a soft mat. Then we were up to shot put. I got a three in it. To do shot put you have to put a heavy ball up near your ear and push it out. I can t remember the rest up until the relay. My heart was thumping as I walked up to the start line. I was first to run so the pressure was on me. I could hear my heart beat, it was so loud. I didn t hear anyone s voice until GO! I ran as fast as I could. I passed one and then two people. I was at the finish. I gave the baton to Kate and fell down. I felt like my heart was thumping out of chest. When I got my breath back I jogged over to Milla who had finished the race for us. She was lying on the ground. I fell over and rolled to Milla. We came third! she said under her breath. After that it was 400m. Bree and Kate ran for our school. They did really well. Bree and Milla were age champs. Then the time we had all been dreading, it was time for announcing the winning school. The awarder said, Second place Murrabit. My heart skipped a beat we were the only ones left. First place Lake Charm! We all screamed with excitement. So that day just proves you only need 11 determined school kids to win the school sports.
