2 Shamrock Newsletter WALK-A-THON IS COMING FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17 TH RAFFLE DONATIONS NEEDED! One of the ways we earn money for the walk-a-thon is through our raffle. We sell raffle tickets the weeks prior to the walk-a-thon and the students LOVE to win prizes on the big day. We are looking for Crafts, kid toys, games, electronics (ipods, ipads, etc). If you have any new, un-opened items lying around your home or would like to purchase something to donate, please drop items in the office. There will be a box labeled Walk-a-Thon raffle where you can place your donations. We are also looking for donations of scrip cards. Last week we had our first Jump for Cash and we will continue this tradition every Friday until the walk-a-thon day. Jump for Cash gives St A s students a chance to win $$. For each online donation, students are entered into a raffle. We choose one name each Friday and that student is able to jump over our cash line, earning the amount of cash they are able to jump over. This Friday we will Jump for Cash again so be sure to get those online donations in! GENERATE DONATIONS! Online donations are up and running and students can generate donations with their walk-a-thon envelopes. If you haven t emailed your family and friends yet, there is still time. All interested 5 th and 6 th grade players should have registered by now, even though play does not begin until the winter. If your athlete still wants to join this fun sport, please do so immediately in the office! VOLLEYBALL REPORT Our volleyball teams are working hard on the court as they make their way towards play-offs. The 7/8th grade boys team had tough competition this past weekend against St. John's Catholic and Blue Oak School. The boys worked together on several key saves - but it just wasn't enough to walk away with a win. The team is looking forward to our scrimmage play against St. John's Lutheran on Thursday starting at 3:45pm - Please come out and cheer them on!!!

5 Shamrock Newsletter Despite many girls battling sickness last week, the 8 th grade girls team won against St. Eugene's 24-13, 26-24 and against Blue Oak 25-10, 26-24. Their coaches, Bret and Kelly Hyatt, are most proud of how well these girls are working together as a team! They will play Saint John Lutheran this Thursday at 4:45pm. It was a hard fought day for the 5th grade girls in Ukiah on Saturday as they lost to St. John's Healdsburg in two games and lost to St. Mary's in three games. The third game went back and forth several times. Coach Wahle is very proud of how the girls are working so well together and always encourage one another. The 6 th grade girls lost their first match, but applied solid passing and teamwork to their next game and brought home the victory! The seventh grade girls won their match against St. Rose by defeating them in two very competitive games. This team is getting better and better each week. They showed that by going on to win both of their matches on Monday as well. The 5 th and 6 th grade boys played a 4 vs. 4 tournament this past weekend, which displayed their great passing skills and court coverage. Saint A s athletes, Stephen Ramirez, Lucas Carr, Miles Martin and Kaden Galyen took home the gold, and each of the 4 teams won at least one game within a match. Great job to all the boys! Please come cheer on our athletes this weekend! **Team event open to all: Our volleyball teams will be having a team night at the Justin Siena Girls Volleyball matches on Friday, Oct. 10 th. Come join the 7 teams of our players in the stands at either the 4:00pm Freshman game, the 5:00pm JV game or the 6:15pm Varsity game. These High School teams are having great seasons, and so these matches will be exciting. There is a snack bar for all, and a small admission ($1.00 for students). Hope to see you all there!
