Parent Association Newsletter #10: 11/13/2018 Hello all, Winter is a-knocking! With the change in weather occurring, please remember to be courteous in the parking lot. Watch out for the little ones walking across the parking lot, coming out of cars, and please be mindful of the proper entrances, exits, and arrows within the parking lot. Following the proper route in the parking lot helps all of us to be safer! CELEBRATIONS: Father George is going to be officially installed on Sunday November 18 th at 12:30 at St. Peter s worship site. Join this celebratory mass! Mrs. Strang and Mrs. Schoenberger were in Washington DC last week to receive St. Bede s National Blue Ribbon Award of Excellence! This is an award well deserved by our fantastic teachers and staff!!! Bede Bash numbers are in and the committee set a record this year by raising over $37,000!!! Congrats to all those who helped make this possible. Halloween Hustle numbers are also in. They also broke records and raised over $16,000!!! Well done to the Halloween Hustle committee! UPCOMING EVENTS AND CONTESTS: The next PA meeting is tomorrow! Everyone is invited and encouraged to come. We meet in the library at 6:30 PM Grades 2, 5 and 6: You are in charge of the the bake sale this weekend on the 17 th and 18 th. Be prepared to bake, volunteer, or opt out by sending in your $15. St. Bede Red Sweatshirts are back in stock! Orders can be filled anytime. These are sweatshirts sold by the St. Bede PA and can be worn as part of the uniform. Please see the sweatshirt order form below. The Yankee Candle Fundraiser is still in motion until January 9th. The catalog sale has ended, but online sales will continue. St. Bede makes 40% of all sales from this fundraiser! The group number for Yankee Candle Online Orders is #990027534. This is perfect timing for those of us who will be sick of turkey by then! St. Bede makes 33% of all sales we generate from this event! The giving tree will begin on 11/26. This year we will support the following charities: Aid for Women of Northern Lake County, Home of the Sparrow, and St. Vincent de Paul. o Please feel free to pick up a card from the tree and return it with an unwrapped donation o Donations can be put by the tree in the school lobby or in Coleman Hall at church The Holiday Shop will be coming back to St. Bede for the kids to do some Christmas shopping at school. We need volunteers! Contact Erin Baumgardner if you are interested in helping out. A volunteer sign up will be coming shortly.

The annual Holiday Lunch is coming up quickly. We will need volunteers to staff the classrooms and front desk of the school as well as bakers, and those who are willing to set up and clean up. Please watch for a sign up coming very soon! CURRENT NEEDS: HELP OUR Fun Fair chairs Julie Webb and Anne Vauk plan the annual Fun Fair on February 1 st. Please contact them or any PA board member if you are interested. HELP OUR Trivia Night/Kids Night Out event chair: Sera Hockenberry. This event will be on February 8 th. Please contact Sera or any PA board member if you are interested. PASSIVE FUNDRAISERS help St. Bede School. Please consider using smile.amazon.com, Bede Bucks, cutting Box Tops, and using the Office Depot/Office Max give back program! EVERY FAMILY is expected to volunteer for 15 hours per school year in some way, shape, or form. Please see the 10 ways to get involved flyer for ideas. Not only does it fulfill an expectation, but it is a great way to build community and make some new friends!
