March, 2017 Volume 57, Number 3 Notes from the Board Columnist: Rhoda Israelov Under the able leadership of President Dave Hinderliter, the Board has begun some ambitious planning for the new dance year. Diane Rice continues to do an outstanding job as Treasurer while also planning the Special Sunday parties. Aina Clayton continues to be in charge of contracting and scheduling our bands and Carol Kussmann continues as Secretary along with being chairman of Nominations. Rhoda Israelov will be interviewing members for the My CDC feature in the newsletter, and will work with Vice President Ben Davis on promotional outreach activities. Susie Stewart is in charge of the Caring Committee, sending congratulations, condolences, and get well cards. Susie will also be assuming the responsibilities of coordinating the monthly newsletter content and sending to Newsletter Editor Pat Ralston. Rudy Osenbaugh is beginning a calling campaign to reach CDC members whose memberships have lapsed, and she will retrieve and respond to CDC phone messages. She will also be making State Fair dance stage arrangements and working on other CDC promotional activities. You will continue to see a board member assisting our cashier Jane Perry at the door each Sunday. Retired board member Darrel Trexler has graciously volunteered to continue serving as Membership Chairman, keeping the records for the Club and emailing the monthly newsletter and weekly memo. We are grateful to Darrel for using his knowledge and collaboration skills to generally smooth the Board transition process. Board members are busy working on some special outside events, including our annual appearance at the Indiana State Fair, and the possibility of participating in Speedway High School s May 19th Spring Fling event. Plans are also afoot for occasional use of professional DJs to vary our musical offerings, and for unique variations on the structure of our weekly mixer. Rhoda Israelov Web Master Our web site needs a new master to update it as needed. If you are sort of computer literate and would like to help out in this way, talk to Mary Sue Delauter at 317-579-1880 or Dave Hinderliter at 317-491-2794. March 19th St. Patty's Day Party Note: Member Karon Wagner has kindly volunteered to oversee the party set-up for our special Sundays. She will need a few helpers at 6:45 on party nights so please let her know if you are available. Contact her at 317-418-6562 or Diane Rice at 317-252-2612. Wearin' of the green.
