The students raised 470 points and this time around we have five winners, rather than a winning class. They are: Samantha Hoskins, Elba Rodriguez, Nikko Hoskins, Joelle Shelton, and Jameson Shelton. Samantha Hoskins had the most points. Unfortunately, we didn't have any particular class that sent in the most labels. However, we did have many unlabeled envelopes with unclaimed points. Not to worry, we have another opportunity to raise points for our school with our Spring Labels for Education contest coming up February 21 st - March 24 th. Please remember to put your child's name, grade, and teacher on the outside of your envelope. Keep clipping those labels! Hands Around the World Last Chance to Order Your 2016-2017 The last day to order a yearbook is Friday, February 17 th. Paper order forms are attached to this newsletter and are due to the Country Trails office by 3:00pm Friday, February 17 th. Please make checks payable to CT PTO. Online orders will be available until 11:59pm at www.jostens.com. The cost is $18 per book. No late orders will be accepted and there is no guarantee that we will have extra books to sell at the end of the year. Order yours NOW to ensure your student has his/her yearbook for Yearbook Signing Day, the last week of school. This multicultural fest is only held every other year showcasing food, games and traditions from countries all around the world; so clear your calendar on January 21 st from 12:00-4:00pm to attend the Hands around the World event at Country Trails! Father/Son Event The Father/Son event will be held on Saturday, January 21 st from 6:00-8:00pm at the Centre of Elgin. This fun event will consist of an open gym/swim night with pizza and soft drinks served. Cougar Talent Show The Cougar Talent Show will be held on Saturday, February 4 th at Central High School! To participate, the form that was distributed before winter break must be turned in by Friday, January 6 th. All acts should be no longer than three minutes and be age appropriate. All performers must attend dress rehearsal on Thursday, February 2 nd. For more information, please contact Kelly Massa at countrytrailstalentshow@gmail.com.

Page 2 Country Trails PTO Photographers Needed for Upcoming School Events We are in desperate need of photographers for the events listed below. You don t need to be a professional, you just need to have a digital camera (no smartphones). If you are able to help out at one or more of these events, please contact Christine Zeinieh at czeinieh@gmail.com or 310-594-7144. Classroom Photos Do you have photos you have taken at classroom events? Share them with us for the yearbook! Send them to Christine Zeinieh via a flash drive or disc or you can upload them directly into the yearbook software via the ReplayIt.com website. Instructions are included in this newsletter or can be found on the PTO website under FORMS. Please label your flash drive with your student s and teacher s name and place in an envelope addressed to Christine Zeinieh. We are only $807 short of our goal for the year, so keep clipping! Please see the attached flyer and product list for products that will have bonus Box Tops during this time. And please be sure to label your submissions with your child s name and teacher so the class can get proper credit. The Mother/Son event will take place March 12th from 2:00-3:30pm. This year, we will be bowling at Brunswick Zone XL on Randall Road in Algonquin. We will have an hour and a half of bowling, plus our fee also covers a $5 arcade card for even more fun! Please see the attached flyer for more info and to sign up. Winter Parties Please see the attached thank you flyer from the Room Parent chair. Restaurant Nights - Buffalo Wild Wings It s Restaurant Night all year long at Buffalo Wild Wings! Effective immediately, BWW will keep a running total of 10% of sales from every check when a CT family eats at the South Elgin, Schaumburg or Geneva locations through April 2, 2017! All you have to do is present the Home Team Advantage (HTA) card to your server when you order and they will add 10% of the check to our total. Be sure your receipt lists HTA on it to ensure that we received the credit. Please see the attached flyer for the HTA card.

Example: Pictures that are taken at the classroom Halloween parties are considered Student Life. Pictures that are taken at the Halloween parade are considered an Event. Once you select a category, information will populate in the Popular Tags box below on the left hand side. Highlight the appropriate Tag for each picture, and click the RED arrow to move the appropriate tag to the box on the right. If you do not highlight the appropriate tag AND click the red arrow to move it to the box on the right, your pictures will not be categorized properly and may not be used. The information on the right hand side of the page asking for First Name, Last Name, Grade, and Photo Caption is optional but helpful. You can fill this out if you want to identify who is in the picture. If you have more than one person you may add more names by clicking the Add Name button. When finished, click Finished Tagging at the bottom of the page. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Unfortunately, if it is determined that photos have been tagged incorrectly, (meaning that pictures of the kids appear in the wrong classrooms), your photos will not be used in the yearbook. Please do not add your own tags. If photos appear under tags that are different from what has already been created, those photos will not be used in the yearbook. You can also provide a flash drive of all of your pictures and the yearbook committee can upload them for your from the administrative side. Just label your flash drive with your name and give it to Mandi Bavaro in the main office at Country Trails. We will upload your photos and get your flash drive back to you the next day.
