If interested contact us at PTSALasColinas@yahoo.com. An Inside Look Red Ribbon Week Assembly - Live Long and Prosper What did your child think about yesterday's school-wide assemblies? In two separate sessions, our Mustangs viewed "Live Long & Prosper", a multi-media presentation shown on three giant screens in the the gym as part of Red Ribbon Week. The focus of the presentation was to encourage students to make positive choices in order to live a rich, full life. Using current music and movies to address issues such as bullying, alcohol and drug use, and suicide, the presentation was both relevant and impactful to our teens and tweens. continue reading and view more pictures School News

Halloween Dress Code 1. All Las Colinas Dress Code Policies MUST be followed (See agenda book) 2. No masks. 3. No weapons of any kind. 4. No fake blood or other substances that will spill or cause a mess. 5. Any wigs, hats or other tall, distracting pieces of a costume that could obstruct the view of others during class must be removed during class time. 6. Students must show respect for other students by not choosing costumes that are insensitive and/or offensive to the diverse backgrounds represented by Las Colinas Students. 7. Students must show respect to other student by not touching, defacing or insulting other students' costumes. Any one who does not follow the Halloween Dress Code will be subject to the dress code violation consequences or further disciplinary action. Please make every effort to keep this day fun and safe for all students. Yearbooks Did you order a 2014-2015 Yearbook at Orientation? Please have your student check the yearbook lists posted around campus (on bulletin boards and in the student window from October 23-30) and make sure their name is on the list. Otherwise they should see JoAnne Wong before school or during nutrition and bring their receipt or a copy of their cancelled check so JoAnne can correct the distribution list. Still Need to Order a Yearbook? The Student Yearbook Sale will be held November 3-7 and yearbooks will be $35.00. We will gladly accept cash or a check made out to LCS ASB. This is the last opportunity for students to order a yearbook before the end of the year. Any leftovers will on sale after final distribution in June for $50 - first come, first serve (8th grade/7th grade/6th grade priority). Did you order Frozen Food from the ASB Fundraiser? The frozen food products will be delivered on Wednesday, November 19th and will be distributed in the GYM. Parents will be able to pick up their orders from 2:15pm to 5:00pm. Students may also pick up their prizes and/or food items after school. Students who ride the bus will be excused a little early from class, as long as they can carry their prizes and food orders with them. Community News Rancho Campana High School Information Applications for Rancho Campana High School for the 2015-2016 school year will be accepted from November 1-30, 2014. Enrollment will be open to current 8th grade students

and high school freshman. Learn more about Rancho Campana by clicking this link and selecting Rancho Campana High School from the list of schools. Camarillo Library Cards give Students Access to On-Line Resources at Home! Las Colinas students can use their new on-line library card from home to access online homework resources in a wide variety of subjects - from maps to biographies, history to science, art, culture and more! Students can also access the Camarillo Library's online ebook collection of more than 1500 titles! Check out this flyer for more info! Did You Know... Camarillo Hospice provides volunteer care and grief support for families? They have a wide range of support groups for all ages including parents that have lost a child, young children that have lost a parent, teens dealing with loss, even loss of a pet.
