1 CLEMENTS BAND and COLOR GUARD ROCK-A-THON LOCK-IN Friday, August 12th 9:00 pm 6:00 am Get ready to ROCK for our biggest fundraiser of the year supporting the Band and Color Guard on Friday, August 12th in the CHS Commons! Students will rock out for the evening on behalf of the Band and Color Guard Programs. This is one of our major fundraisers for the year. The money raised goes toward drill and music arrangement, visual choreography, costumes, clinicians, and other educational and instructional materials. Check-in begins at 9pm and pick up starts at 5:30 am. Saturday. All money and permission forms must be turned in to the Booster Club parents or band hall mailbox no later than Thursday, August 11th. There is a minimum $75 entry fee to the Rock-A-Thon. But don t just ask your parents for money earn it! Get together with your section and play your instruments in the community for donations, entertain your neighbors or extended family, perform at parties for pay... whatever is fun. Then, ask your parents for a contribution or for matching funds. If your donors request a receipt, donation receipts are included with this packet and are available online at the website. All donations must be turned in by August 14th. We ll be rocking out to music throughout the evening, starting with a DJ in the Commons. We ll also have karaoke; a photo booth; an open gym; inflatables; ping pong; a dodge ball tournament; a poker tournament; and other entertainment. Please remember to sign up for the tournaments and challenge games. A drawing for a great prize will be held each hour beginning at 11:00 pm. Various prizes will also be awarded throughout the evening during the dodge ball and poker tournaments and the obstacle course race. Parents, please contact Booster Club officers if you would like to donate prizes. Bring your energy! You can bring any entertainment systems you would like to play during the evening or even board games. You may also bring a sleeping bag and pillow or blankets. If you want to bring bean bags or other easy-to-maneuver chairs, feel free. You can bring PJ s, but remember this is a school activity and the dress code applies and will be enforced. The Rock-A-Thon will begin at 9 pm. Check in will be between 9 pm and 10:30 pm and pickup starts at 5:30 am on Saturday. All students must be picked up no later than 6:00 am. The inflatables will be starting at app. 9:00 pm and the poker tournament will begin around 11pm. Games and other entertainment are also being organized by Band and Guard officers to
2 provide non-stop entertainment all night long! Students are free to play or rest as they choose. For those who want non-stop action, a gym will remain open all night. *****IMPORTANT!! -- If you need to leave early (no later than 1:00 am), you must have a signed parental note on record with Mr. Galloway no later than Thursday, Aug. 11th, stating when you will leave and how you will be transported. If parents are picking you up, they must come in to show identification. If you have written permission to drive yourself, parents will be called by chaperones to confirm that you are on your way home. All students will be start being dismissed at 5:30 am. Saturday morning. Parents, please set your alarms! **** Food will be available all evening, with pizza, chips, fruit, and desserts starting at 9:30 pm. Nachos and popcorn will also be available during the evening. Food contributions are divided by the following, and these may be brought to school anytime Wednesday through Friday, Aug 10-12th. Please bring fruit in on Friday only. SENIORS - Single serving size of chips (any kind) Min. 12 count JUNIORS - Whole fruit Minimum 1 dozen or 1 pound, no cut fruit please. SOPHOMORES - Desserts Min. 1 dozen store-bought cookies, brownies, or other desserts. FRESHMEN - Drinks according to the following: A-L Gatorade or Soda in single oz. bottles or cans Min. 12 count M-Z Water in single serving bottles, Min. 24 count We need parent volunteers to chaperone in 3 hour shifts. You will be supervising the kids, serving food and snacks and helping with clean-up. Multiple shifts are permitted and mom/dad teams are welcome! 3 Clements High School Band & Color Guard ROCK-A-THON, August 12, 2016 CONSENT and AUTHORIZATION THIS FORM MUST BE SIGNED AND RETURNED WITH PLEDGE FORM ROCK-A-THON LOCK-IN RULES: 1. A minimum $75 pledge will be required of all students to enter party, with student ID. 2. Admittance to the party will be between 9 pm -10:30 pm. Doors will be locked from 10:30 pm to 5:30 am. Only Clements Band and Color Guard students are permitted to attend. 3. Any student who must leave before 1:00 am will only be released to the Parent/Guardian who signed the consent form below, with a pre-approved permission note from that parent. Anyone who leaves will not be allowed to return. 4. Students are encouraged to bring sleeping bag, pillow, and any items they may want to use during the lock-in. Please leave all money and valuables at home. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. 5. Absolutely no admittance will be allowed if there are any signs of alcohol or drug use. Students are not allowed to bring any types of weapon. Determination of such will be at the discretion of Security and their judgment will be final. 6. Any member of the Security staff reserves the right to eject a participant who becomes unruly or violates school policy. The Parent/Guardian giving consent will be called to pick up the student. Parent identification will be needed. 7.
