ONTARIO TENNIS MAGAZINE + The full colour magazine is published four times a year and reports on grassroots tennis throughout the province, as well as national and international tennis news of provincial interest. OTA COMPETITIVE STRUCTURE The OTA sanctions over 200 tournaments each year accommodating players in age categories from under 8 to over 80. OTA KIDS TENNIS This initiative is a plan for growing the sport of tennis in Ontario in order to increase participation levels. + Program is designed to increase access to tennis at the community level for both children and adults + Program components include TRY (free), LEARN (at a subsidized cost) at a local participating OTA community club called Kids Tennis Welcome Centre For more information, contact Ely Schwartz, Tennis Pathways Manager, (ext. 1107/eschwartz@).
OTA TENNIS FAIR + This program travels each outdoor season to tennis clubs throughout every region of Ontario. + Clubs get an opportunity to provide members with 2 fun-filled hours of unique tennis programming, play test the latest in Wilson racquet technology, receive a HOT t-shirt and more. COOL prizes and surprises for all! + Your club can choose from 3 different types of fairs such as the Co-op Fun Fair, Hitting Clinic, Doubles and the Specialized Tour Doubles Clinic. OTA COACHING AND INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT + Recognizing that the tennis professional is one of the keys to club success, the OTA delivers certification clinics as part of a national program to develop properly trained instructors and coaches for your club. + In 2015, the OTA plans to offer nine Tennis Instructors, two Club Pro 1, one Club Pro 2 and one Club Pro 3 courses. + This number of opportunities each year makes it much easier for OTA clubs to hire properly qualified instructors/coaches.
