Tractor Tribune MAFMCA Newsletter April 2017 Page 4 Highlights of January 2017 Meeting January s membership meeting was held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, and called to order at 7:05 pm, at the Montour-DeLong Fairgrounds (fair building) with 13 members present. December 2015 meeting minutes were read and approved. Committee Reports Tractor Pulls Tim Carr reported the committee is working on the issue of sled replacement. Flea Market A few new vendors have been secured as reported by April Shuman. FFA Tractor Safety Course time see Mike Shultz for details. Gun Raffle Travis Carr updated the group on the fundraiser. Bingo April Shuman reported on the spring and fall bingo events in the works. Old Business Annual Banquet President Ken Cotner, Jr., reviewed banquet preparations with members (awards, auctioneer, meal, supplies, etc.). Fundraisers Additional fundraiser ideas were discussed. Taxes Ready to be submitted for 2016. New Business No new business. Treasurer Jason Bird presented the monthly treasurer s report (for financial information, please attend a membership meeting). The January meeting adjourned at 7:57 pm. The next MAFMCA meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 7:00 pm at the Montour-DeLong Fairgrounds. Respectfully submitted, Angie Bickhart, MAFMCA Secretary Highlights of February 2017 Meeting February s membership meeting was held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, and called to order at 7:05 pm, at the Montour-DeLong Fairgrounds (fair building) with 14 members present. January meeting minutes were read and approved. Committee Reports Tractor Pulls Tim Carr discussed options for a sled for this season s pulls a pull schedule will be devised pending the outcome of these decisions. Flea Market April and Clark Shuman discussed having some new events/contests at the show. FFA Tractor Safety Course is in progress; member Chadd Benner s restored John Deere was displayed at the PA Farm Show this year. Gun Raffle Tim Carr announced Travis is working on the 2018 gun raffle fundraiser. Newsletter Angie Bickhart reported that a spring issue of the newsletter is planned for April. Bingo April announced that the spring bingo event is scheduled for April 2 ( Something for Everyone ) and a fall bingo is scheduled for October 14 both to be held at the Elysburg Fire Hall details were discussed. Old Business Annual Banquet Treasurer Jason Bird informed the group that our 2017 banquet was a success with over 110 people in attendance. Taxes - Jason Bird reported tax preparations are underway with H&R Block. New Business Fair Association Trustee Tim Carr announced an open Fair Board position is available. 2017 Show Schedule The group discussed revising the show schedule changes forthcoming. Memorial Donations Contributions have been made in memory of member Calvin Straub. Treasurer Jason Bird presented the monthly treasurer s report (for financial information, please attend a membership meeting). The February meeting adjourned at 8:33 pm. The next MAFMCA meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at 7:00 pm at the Montour-DeLong Fairgrounds. Committee Reports Tractor Pulls Newly appointed Tractor Pulling Chairman Gus Jones lead a lengthy discussion on tractor pull changes in the making hook costs increased to $7 per hook; adding a jackpot pull; approval to search for a replacement sled, etc. Gun Raffle Travis Carr reported tickets should be ready for April s meeting Bingo April Shuman reminded members of upcoming Bingo and help/donations is needed. Old Business Taxes Completed and filed.

Tractor Tribune MAFMCA Newsletter April 2017 Page 5 New Business Fireworks The group discussed and planned a fireworks display to be held at the 2017 annual show provided by Brian Whitenight since last year s was such a success. 2017 Feature Tractor Display Tom Bostian and family will be coordinating and organizing this year s feature display - Farmall/International Harvester.
