All 4-H members need to turn in their 4-H Award Point System Record Sheets by the September 28th deadline, in order to be eligible for awards at the 4-H Awards Banquet in December. 4-H points are earned by participating in 4-H events and activities. Report activities from September 1, 2017 through August 31, 2018. To be eligible for awards, 4-H members earn points in a minimum of three different areas and submit a completed record form to the Extension Office by Friday, September 28th. A single activity can only be counted once, under one level, unless the 4-Her advances and participates in the same contest at more than one level. For example, a county speech contest winner who participates at area would earn points under county and area. All 4-H members who submit their completed form will be recognized at the Banquet. With some activities being worth 50 points, it won t take long to accumulate several points for recognition. Also, the Outstanding Junior and Senior 4-H Member Awards will be presented to the top 4-H Junior and Senior Division member with the most points earned. Awards will be presented at the Annual 4-H Awards Banquet, to be held on Monday, Dec. 3rd. If you have questions while completing the form, or if you are unsure whether or not an activity would count, please call the Extension Office at 270-358-3401. The information you submit will be reviewed and verified. However, if you do not include an activity on your form, you cannot receive points for that activity. It is the 4-H member s responsibility to submit a complete record form in order to receive credit for all events and activities. Awards Point System Record Forms are available at the Extension Office or download online at http://larue.ca.uky.edu/content/4-h-awards-point-system. ATTENTION 6TH GRADERS AND UP: Start now on your State 4-H Achievement Application. They will be due to the Extension Office by Tuesday, November 6th. Once you start your application, you simply add to it each year. Please contact 4-H Agent, Misty Wilmoth with any questions!
