PAGE 1: CAN DRIVE PAGE 2: PLAYER SPOTLIGHT / 5 STAR CHALLENGE PAGE 3: SNAP FUNDRAISER PAGE 4: COMMUNITY ED/ THE ROCK PROGRAM UPDATES PAGE 5: PROUD SPONSORS CAN DRIVE The second annual can drive is right around the corner! The dates are set for November 24 th November 30 th. The varsity girls will be put into teams of two and their goal is to collect as many cans as they can in one week. Winners receive custom-made trophies! There will be a big celebration with food, a bon fire and games on the 30 th! If you would like to donate cans, please contact Coach Wilson (bwilson@rockfordschools.org) or one of the varsity players.

Danielle is one of only a few seniors back on the 2018 Rams basketball team. She is a powerful post player that takes pride in hard work and physicality. Danielle is poised to have a big year for the Rams where she will look to take over the starting center position. Danielle committed herself to basketball this offseason and has improved tremendously. She brings much needed height to her team and has a knack for getting rebounds. Recently Danielle committed to go to school and play basketball at GRCC! We are very proud of Danielle and cannot wait to watch her play her senior year! 5 Star Challenge This year the high school basketball program completed the first annual 5 Star Challenge. The competition took place a week before tryouts. The girls came into the gym at 6AM and competed in 4 daily challenges accumulating points based off their results. At the conclusion, the girls enjoyed a wonderful breakfast put on by their parents. Congratulations to all the awards winners including our champion junior Sydney Reinke!

The girls basketball program is holding its second annual SNAP fundraiser in the month of December. Each player 9 th 12 th grade needs to provide 20 emails of friends and family. Each address will receive an email that spells out some of our finical goals and where the money goes if the recipient chooses to donate to the program. Some of these goals include new uniforms, warm up pants, record boards for the team room, practice jerseys and shooting shirts. If you would like to contribute, please contact: Coach Wilson (bwilson@rockfordschools.org) or one of our varsity girls. Here are the record boards that we had made for the team room! *All records and next level names are for the year 2013 and up!

Community ed basketball is up and running! The 3 rd 6 th grade girls tip off every Saturday morning at Rockford North or East Middle School. This is a GREAT opportunity for the young girls in our community to get much needed practice and experience. If you get a chance, I encourage you to catch a game! The girls play each Saturday, ending on December 15 th. In the next few weeks, they will receive information regarding tryouts for the winter/spring Rock Season. Speaking of The Rock, Michael Redell has the 7 th and 8 th grade teams up and rolling right now! Each team is involved in a league and participating in a few tournaments. Good luck to each of those girls with the Rock and with tryouts for their up and coming middle school season! The 3 rd 6 th grade Rock information will be handed out at community ed in the next few weeks!

SPONSER SPOGHTLIGHT Today s Sponsor Spotlight is for Sally Reinke with Remax! Sally is the mother of junior Sydney Reinke, and generously donates each year to the girls basketball program. Thank you Sally for all your contributions and be sure to see her for all your house searching and selling needs! Check us out at: www.rockfordgirlsbasketball.com Rockford Girls Basketball @RockGBB
