HOUSEKEEPERS GO HEAD TO HEAD IN Housekeepers from three shifts gathered last month to show off their prowess with mops and vacuums during the second annual Housekeeping Olympics at Lone Butte Casino. The games included timed events in a toilet paper toss, assembling a vacuum, a rag folding competition and the ever fan favorite, the obstacle relay race. Having an annual tradition is a fun way to provide recognition to the housekeeping team for all the hard work they do each and every day, said Lone Butte Casino s Housekeeping Manager Jacob Montoya. A steady stream of prizes were handed out to the participants during the competition, including Coyote hockey pucks, movie tickets, D-backs duffel bags, and even star points! The KTAR Radiothon is Phoenix Children s Hospital s largest fundraiser, and is in its fourteenth year of raising funds to assist patients and families. This event is simulcast live on KTAR from Phoenix Children s Hospital and includes on air personalities, a phone bank staffed by sponsors and volunteers, and celebrity appearances.
The safety team is taking extra measures by installing wall-mounted storage tubes in high traffic areas to alert team members of potential hazards, especially wet floors.
