Why Play Golf Golf is one of the best and safest sports a child can play. Golf has a long history and reputation of promoting sportsmanship, etiquette, obeying rules, self discipline and healthy activity. These attributes exist at all levels of the sport, from grassroots level through to elite competition. Junior tournaments and coaching provide a grounding that instils confidence and self belief which children take with them to adulthood. Golf gives the opportunity for people of varying strengths, ages, sizes and abilities to compete and enjoy a sport on a level playing field. Very few, if any sports, cater for everyone like golf does. GV Golf Junior Club gives your child the opportunity to be taught the correct methods and etiquette of the game of golf. Parents Guide For parents of young golfers, you can have a significant influence on whether your child plays the game of golf. There are many ways to approach introducing golf to your child but the #1 truism is that if your child doesn t have fun they will not want to play the game. Parents are encouraged to stay and participate in your child's learning. The joy children have if parents or close family/friends are watching when they perform their first skills can be very powerful. Mooroopna Golf Club have a variety of viewing locations. Depending where your child(s) may be practising, it is possible to sit in or around the clubhouse, enjoy a coffee and mingle amongst other parents. Golf is a game where allocation of time can differ from each level. 3 holes to play will take approximately 45 minutes and the 9 hole juniors can take two hours or more. We ask that children either use their own proper junior golf clubs or borrow ours. Clubs too long, heavy and rigid can have dramatic negative effects on your child's performance. Children's clubs are like shoes, they need to fit to be comfortable. Parents who actively involve themselves also need to be sun smart, hydrated and wear comfortable footwear Enjoy the experience!!
