HUNTERVILLE SCHOOL 33 Bruce Street, Hunterville Phone: 06-322 8210 Fax: 06-322 8294 E-mail: office@hunterville.school.nz Principal: Colleen Dalley 027 4917575 Dear Parents / Caregivers / Whanau 27 March 2018 Tena koutou katoa Greetings to all families and friends of Hunterville School. The Science & Technology Roadshow was a very interesting and practical hands-on experience for all our year four to year eight students at Taihape Area School on Friday. The demonstrations and experiments fully engaged our kids, and there are follow-up activities for us to use on the Roadshow website. Once again, this great field trip was made possible by the generosity of our parent and whanau community offering transport and helping with supervision thank you - it is genuinely appreciated. Also, thanks to Shane for organising another excellent field trip, and the rest of the staff for their support and transport. Some photos of the science action

Junior Athletics: Room 1 to 3 this Thur 29 from 1pm DISCO: This THURSDAY 29 March from 6.30 to 8.00pm Theme: Sports o Any profits will go towards the Denmark exchange fund Easter school holidays include this Friday 30 March, Monday and Tuesday, 2 & 3 April Hunterville Interschool Athletics: Friday 6 April from 10.30am to 4.30pm Production Team Update: Wendy Revell and Jane Nimmo have continued to work three days a week with all our children, rehearsing the acting, singing, dancing etc to make the Lion King story come alive! Guy and Pete, the builders, have been in and converted our stage structure to accommodate Wendy s visions, and their very generously given time and expertise is so appreciated. Mary Vennell and her wonderful team of sewers, makers and shakers have created and recreated a huge range of costumes with fittings well underway and bags of kit for every child! Nicky Livingston what great props work you are doing and the kids are keen to be in on the painting and creating of their own masks. Another awesome team of mask makers worked all day yesterday! We picked up the main character masks from Lindisfarne College in Hastings on Sunday, and they are just amazing! They also lent us a giant sun, which can be raised and lowered at the back of the stage. You people are so awesome, volunteering your time, hard toil and teamwork many, many thanks! Also, thanks to Lesley, Harry, Shane, Sue, Frances, all staff and everyone else who is working to make this production wonderful! And to all involved, please do make use of the staffroom, tea coffee, cookies etc! THE LION KING (JNR) Tickets on sale from the office - Thursday 10 May matinee - invited schools sold out! Thursday Evening 7.30pm - $15.00 per ticket Friday matinee 12.30pm - $10.00 per ticket Friday evening 7.30pm - $20.00 per ticket Get in fast tickets generally sell pretty quickly. No reservations/no book ups. Cash/cheque please. (Eftpos machine arriving any day now). LOST PROPERTY - Yesterday we had a big clean up of lost property. The piles were huge!! And sadly most of the pile was unnamed. Please, please ensure all your children s school uniform items are named. It makes reuniting with owners much easier. Also if you could on a regular basis just check to make sure your children have their own uniform items. Quite often we are hunting for named items that we just do not find! They must be somewhere!

FEILDING HIGH SCHOOL L.J.WILDHOUSE HOSTEL OPEN DAY Friday 6 April 2018 10.30am-1pm Hostel enrolments are now being accepted for 2019 www.feildinghigh.school.nz Contact for boys Adam Ross 0278084113 Girls Sarah Norman 022 090 4414 Year 7/8 Immunisations Those who have consented to these, they will be done in the school library on Thursday April 5 @ 9am. A note will come out by the last day of term, with dates, details etc. for anyone keen to help with this fundraiser. This is not convenient for most of us, but it does make us over a thousand dollars for our camp account, which is pretty important, particularly this year with the Resolution Bay trip in November. Home & School Update: AGM was held last Tuesday followed by the regular meeting. o Officers re-elected: President: Tris Weston, Secretary: Karina Jervis, Treasurer: Nicky Livingston Hot Cross Bun Fundraiser A huge thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser, especially the Gillespie family who contributed around a quarter of all the orders! That is an exceptional effort! o We raised over $700! Look out for this to become an annual event with a prize for the highest selling family next year! Pictured below Pippa Gillespie, with SOME of her family s orders!
