Binghamton hit 8-for-18 when batting with runners in scoring position and clobbered out a season-high five doubles. T.J. Rivera led the offensive attack, going 4-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored and three RBI. Dustin Lawley also drove in three, while Josh Rodriguez hit his first home run of the season. Rainy Lara allowed three runs in five innings for the win. The B-Mets bullpen allowed just two hits in four shutout innings. It was the first time Binghamton won their home opener since 2009. BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Gabriel Ynoa makes his second start of the season. The righty allowed five hits over seven shutout innings against Akron in his debut. He held lefty batters hitless in nine trips to the plate and the Rubber- Ducks were 0-for-7 when batting with a runner in scoring position against Ynoa. The 21-year-old took the loss in his only career start against the Senators, allowing two runs and four hits in six innings pitched on August 8, 2014. Ynoa pitched to a 6.00 ERA in five starts at NYSEG Stadium last season. HARRISBURG STARTER: RHP Tim Alderson makes his second start of the season. The righty allowed just one run on four hits over five innings against Altoona. Alderson spent time in the Eastern League with the Connecticut Defenders and Altoona Curve from 2009-2013. The 26-year-old will be making his 11th career appearance and seventh start against the B-Mets. He s 2-1 with a 6.82 ERA against Binghamton. Alderson has pitched to 4.71 ERA in seven outings at NYSEG Stadium. THREE IS A MAGIC NUMBER: Dustin Lawley recorded his fourth career three RBI game with the Binghamton Mets Thursday night. It was his first in 17 games. DOUBLE OR NOTHING: Binghamton stroked five doubles Thursday night, their most in 28 regular season games The B-Mets had five doubles in their previous seven games combined. LONG (BALL) OVERDUE: Josh Rodriguez hit his first home run Thursday night since July 19, 2014. It was his fifth career home run in 102 games at NYSEG Stadium. Rodriguez has launched 82 home runs in 921 pro games. BEEN CAUGHT STEALING: The B-Mets are 1-for-9 in stolen base attempts since beginning the season 5-for-5. Their last five failed stolen base attempts have all come with two outs in an inning. Binghamton leads the league with 14 stolen base attempts on the year.
