Mr Ritchie indicated that the filly had been treated on Saturday morning, 5 December 2015, with two intravenous supplement injections and that he had noticed swelling from those injections had not subsided. He indicated that the filly had not received any further treatment of any sort since Saturday morning. Following a veterinary inspection, and after seeking the recommendation of the race day veterinarian, Dr T Selig, the Stewards permitted the filly to take its place in the field. Pre and post race samples were taken and will be forwarded for routine analysis. At a subsequent inquiry, and after perusal of Mr Ritchie's treatment records, Mr Ritchie pleaded guilty to a charge under AR178F(5) in that his treatment records were deficient, in that they omitted the name of the horse, the time of the administration of the treatment, the amount of medication given and the signature of the person administering or authorising the treatment.
