Entries: Please complete an entry form for each dog for each stake in which it is entered. Each entry must contain all information required by the CKC rules. Each entry must be accompanied by the entry fee in full and a listing fee of $9.00, where applicable. A listing fee is required for any dog which does not have a CKC registration number or ERN. Entry fees will be refunded in full for a bitch in season when a veterinary certificate is provided. All other scratches will be refunded at the discretion of the Field Trial Committee, less an administrative fee of $10 per entry. If entries are sent by courier or express mail or any other method requiring the signature of the addressee, the sender must waive the signature requirement. Make cheques payable to the PEI Retriever Club and mail with the appropriate entry forms to the Field Trial Secretary. If you provide your E-mail address, we will provide you with the running order not later than the Tuesday following the draw in Excel and PDF format. 2
Running Order, Starting Numbers, Liability, Rules Running order: Dogs and bitches will be run in the order of the draw. Rule 6.6.1.c provides that "in a stake carrying championship points, a system of rotation must be implemented " In the Open and Amateur stakes the starting order will rotate 25% of the entered field, rounded upward, with the provision that no dog will be required to be the starter for two series. Starting numbers: The order of running in the Open and Amateur stakes shall be in the order of the draw beginning with the dog determined using the S&P/TSX Composite Index closing number on the Tuesday preceding the trial. Please contact the Field Trial Secretary to receive a written explanation of the system. We will advise all contestants with E-mail addresses of the starting number on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Release and Indemnification of Landowners: By entering this trial, each participant agrees to assume all risks and hazards incidental to participation in the trial and agrees to release, save harmless and indemnify the owner(s) of any property upon which the trial is held together with their officers, agents, employees and representatives from all claims, actions, costs, expenses and demands in respect to death, injury, loss or damage to the person or property of the participant howsoever caused, arising out of or in connection with the participant's use or entry upon the property. It is understood that this agreement is binding upon the participant, or his heirs, his executors and assigns. Rule 21.7 "It shall be the duty and obligation of the trial-giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer or any participant at an event held under these rules, is not subject to any indignities of any kind. The Retriever Field Trial Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred." 3
General Information Location: The trial will be held in the area of Vessey's Farm, York Road, Route 25 off Route 2. Signs will be posted from headquarters to the trial grounds early Saturday morning. Headquarters and accommodations: Headquarters is the Sherwood Motor Inn, 281 Brackley Point Road, Charlottetown PE (across from Charlottetown Airport). Rates range from $45 to $110 nightly. Listings of accommodations are available from Tourism PEI at www.gov.pe.ca/visitorsguide/ Please make your reservations early. PEI is a summer tourist destination. Other matters: A canteen will be available for lunches. Game birds will be ducks and/or pheasants. Catalogues and maps to the trial grounds will be available at Headquarters, Friday evening August 27, 2010. Awards for placings and CM's will be ribbons as specified by the CKC.
