(GK) Notice of Race numbering is following the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) Appendix K numbering. Some paragraph numbers are intentionally left out. 1 RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2 No national prescriptions will apply, except Finnish Championships rules apply for Snipe and 505 classes 1.3 RRS G3 applies for loaned and chartered boats having permission of race committee. 1.4 RRS appendix P applies. 1.5 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence. 2 ADVERTISING 2.1 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority. 3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the International Optimist, Europe, Snipe, 505, and Finnclasses. For Star Class, boats are eligible in accordance with Class Rules (STCR) of the International Star Class Yachting Racing Association (ISCYRA) 21, 26, 29 and 30. 3.2 The Snipe class is divided into three classes; Open class, Classic Snipe I for wooden boats, and, Classis Snipe II for GRP boats over 15 years of age. 3.3 Within International Optimist and Optimist Kadetti classes the competitors shall be born year 2000 or later. 3.4 Eligible boats for all classes may enter by completing the electronic entry form at Yacht Club of Turku web site and submitting it together with the required fee as stated in 5.1 by 10.8.2015. 3.5 Late entries may be accepted, on discretion of the Organising Authority, with fees raised 50% as to the initial ones. 3.6 Each competitor shall be a member of a club affiliated to its ISAF national authority, and, TPS Airisto Regatta Notice of Race 20150323/v4 1

Thursday 20.8.2015 1800 2100 Registration, measurement and inspection Friday 21.8.2015 0900 1100 Registration, measurement and inspection 1255 First warning signal, 3 races Saturday 22.8.2015 Sunday 23.8.2015 1600 Prize giving ceremony, after protest handling 7.3 On the last day of the regatta no warning signal will be made after 1500 7.4 One additional race per day may be sailed if the weather forecast predicts that the scheduled races the next day will be unlikely to be sailed or when the event is behind the schedule. 8 MEASUREMENTS 8.1 Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate. In addition the measurements mentioned in Appendix 1 maybe taken. 9 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS Sailing Instructions will be available on Turun Pursiseura ry web-site 20.8.2015 at 12:00 and at the race office during event registration. 10 VENUE 10.1 Race courses are located on North-Airisto (Chart no. 26), Appendix 2. 10.2 Race harbours are the Turun Pursiseura harbour and the Ruissalo Spa Hotel harbour, Appendix 3. The class allocation for the harbours shall be later announces on event web-site. 10.3 Racing area will be about 3,5 nautical miles from the regatta harbours. 11 THE COURSES The courses to be sailed are Windward-Leeward or Triangle or Trapezoid type 13 SCORING 13.1 For Snipe-class 3 races and for 505-class 4 races are to be completed to constitute Finnish Championships series. For Star-class 3 races are to be completed to constitute 10 th District Championships series. 13.2 When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores. When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. 14 SUPPORT BOATS Every boat that is moored in Race Harbours shall be registered at Race Office and are required to carry identification supplied by Race Office, and to function as security vessels according to the TPS Airisto Regatta Notice of Race 20150323/v4 3
instructions of the Regatta Safety Officer. Support boats shall be launched at TPS harbour, see appendix 3. 15 BERTHING Boats shall be kept in their assigned places while they are in the [boat park] [harbour]. 16 HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS Keelboats shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee. 18 RADIO COMMUNICATION Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. 19 PRIZES 19.1 For Snipe and 505 Open Finnish Championships, the Finnish Sailing and Boating Federation prizes shall be awarded. 19.2 For Star class the Perpetual Eljas Erkko Trophy will be awarded to the 10th District Championship winner. 19.3 Additionally Yacht Club of Turku prizes will be awarded for each class following the Finnish Sailing and Boating Federation scheme. 20 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. Appendix 1 Liite 1 Measurements and equipment checks Mittaukset ja välinetarkastukset To be separately found on a Noticeboard of respective classes. Löytyvät kunkin luokan ilmoitustauluilta erikseen luokkakohtaisesti. For Star class: Each participating boat shall have a valid Measurement Certificate and Weight Certificate. Only boats that have completed registration, paid all entry fees, and passed the prescribed measurement check procedure by 9.30 on 10th July are entitled to race. Crews shall demonstrate compliance with crew weight limits in accordance with STCR 31.1.3 prior to 9.30 on 10th July.
