1 Event: H-boat Finnish Championships Organising Authority: Yacht Club of Turku (TPS) Date: 9 th 12 th June 2016 NOTICE OF RACE Notice of Race numbering is following the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) Appendix K numbering. Some paragraph numbers are intentionally left out. 1 RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2 H-boat class Finnish Championships rules apply. 1.3 RRS G3 applies for loaned and chartered boats having permission of race committee. 1.4 If there is a conflict between languages the Finnish text will take precedence. 2 ADVERTISING 2.1 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority. 3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of H-class fulfilling the requirements of class rules. The size of the boats crew shall be from 2 to 4 persons. 3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the electronic entry form at Yacht Club of Turku web site and submitting it together with the required fee as stated in 5.1 by Late entries may be accepted, on discretion of the Organising Authority, with fees raised 50% as to the initial ones. 3.4 Each competitor shall be a member of a club affiliated to its World Sailing national authority, and, member of her national class association. 3.5 The boat may use 2 front sails, 1 main sail and 1 spinnaker in the regatta. Another spinnaker may be stored in the boat, but sealed according to race committees instructions. 5 FEES 5.1 Entry fee is 150 euros / boat. 5.2 The payment must be send to Turun Pursiseura ry bank account: IBAN: FI / BIC: OKOYFIHH, by the last entry date. 7 SCHEDULE 7.1 Scheduled number of racing days 3 and races 8: Thursday 9 th June 2016 TPS H-vene SM Notice of Race EN/v1 1

2 Registration, measurement and inspection Friday 10 th June Registration, measurement and inspection 1100 Sailors meeting 1255 First warning signal, 3 races Saturday 11 th June Registration, measurement and inspection 1255 First warning signal, 3 races Sunday 12 th June First warning signal, 2 races 1600 Prize giving ceremony, after protest handling 7.2 On the last day of the regatta no warning signal will be made after The Finnish Championships regatta is valid if 4 or more races has been conducted. 8 MEASUREMENTS 8.1 Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate. In addition the measurements mentioned in Appendix 1 maybe taken. 9 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 9.1 Sailing Instructions will be available on Turun Pursiseura ry web-site 9 th June 2016 at 12:00 and at the race office during event registration. 10 VENUE 10.1 Race courses are located on North-Airisto (Chart no. 26), Appendix Race harbour is the Turun Pursiseura harbour, Appendix Racing area will be about 3,5 nautical miles from the regatta harbour. 11 THE COURSES 11.1 The courses to be sailed are Windward-Leeward type 13 SCORING 13.1 Four (4) races are to be completed to constitute Finnish Championships series When fewer than four (4) races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores. This changes RRS Appendix A2. When four (4) or more races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. 14 SUPPORT BOATS 14.1 Every boat that is moored in Race Harbours shall be registered at Race Office and are required to carry identification supplied by Race Office, and to function as security vessels according to the instructions of the Regatta Safety Officer. 3 14.2 Support boats shall be launched at TPS harbour, see appendix BERTHING 15.1 Boats shall be kept in their assigned places while they are in the harbour. 16 HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS 16.1 Keelboats shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee. 18 RADIO COMMUNICATION 18.1 Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. 19 PRIZES 19.1 For Finnish Championships, the Finnish Sailing and Boating Federation prizes shall be awarded for first three (3) boats Individual prizes shall be given to 6 first boats Finnish H-boat class association Perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the Finnish Championship winner Additionally Yacht Club of Turku prizes will be awarded following the Finnish Sailing and Boating Federation scheme. 20 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY 20.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. 21 INSURANCE 21.1 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance, with minimum coverage. 22 FURTHER INFORMATION 22.1 Turun Pursiseura ry, Pursiseuranranta 30, Turku kilpailut@turunpursiseura.fi 23 CHANGES 23.1 All changes to this Notice of Race shall be published by June 1st 2016 on web-site of Yacht Club of Turku TPS H-vene SM Notice of Race EN/v1 3

4 Appendix 1 Liite 1 Measurements and equipment checks Mittaukset ja välinetarkastukset Tarkastusmittaukset suoritetaan Turun Pursiseuran satamassa. Veneen mittaustodistus sekä kaikki kilpailussa käytettävät purjeet tarkastetaan. Lisäksi veneiden, purjeiden ja varusteiden tarkistusmittauksia voidaan suorittaa pistokokein Measurements and equipment checks shall be conducted in Yacht Club of Turku harbour. The measurement certificate and all sails that shall be used in the competition shall be cheked. Additional checks of boats, sails and equipment shall be performed on random basis.
