There is an important trifecta of factors that make the ultimate surf trip; waves, weather and food and fortunately for us Indonesia has the holy trinity combined with a culture like no other, making a truly magical experience. Indonesian culture is prevalent from the moment you step out of the airport and you inhale the incense burning on one of the offerings to the Gods. There are strong religious foundations here; shown in a very peaceful and welcoming way. As we move into the day-to-day Indo specialities the experiences become more unique and memorable. From getting out of the surf and stepping straight into a beach-side massage, to the fresh fruit juices quench your thirst and simple rice and chicken packets for about 50p to refuel. The banana pancakes for breakfast are second to none and the local coffee is an experience all in its own. Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng rule the roost in the restaurants when it comes to a delicious budget meal, but you can find whatever it is you are after at a fraction of the price you are used to paying. Everything is negotiable and the excitement of negotiating a sale is expected and all part of the fun. We could go on, but you have to go there yourself to experience it all and before you know it you will be shouting words like bagus around like you ve used it since birth, such is the way it sucks you in. DESTINATION OVERVIEW Bali is the surfing capital of Indonesia and where we start our adventures. Based in Canggu, we make the most of our time surfing numerous breaks on our doorstep, as well as sampling the buzzing beachfront restaurants, quirky cafes and numerous places to get a cold sunset Bintang. To get here, we take you out of the hustle and bustle of Kuta, through the rice paddies and before you can say Nasi Goreng we are in our little haven. From here we drive to both sides of the island, including the Bukit Peninsular for the most suitable surf. After our time on Bali we fly over to the quieter and more remote island of Lombok and head to the small fishing village of Gerupuk that we call home for a week. Everything changes here as cars are no longer needed and our only mode of transport is either our feet or the boats to get out to the various reef breaks. Life in Lombok is simple and peaceful, and the surf is plentiful. From Lombok we take a ferry over to Nusa Lembongan to experience a different type of island living. From Lembongan, you get a clear view of Bali and its volcanoes but you are far enough away to get the best of both Worlds. When it comes to the surf, it is back onto a boat to head out to whichever of the numerous spots suits us best on the day. With amazing sunsets over Bali each evening and a crystal clear lagoon to swim in, as well as an infinity pool, Nusa Lembongan can only be described as Paradise. If you are joining us for the road trip, we will cruise from Kuta to Canggu to Balian, ending up in Medewi; home to the longest wave in Indonesia. 500m rides here are common. You will not want to leave, your body may need to... 4

SURFING BALI Are you prepared to take your surfing to the next level? On our Indo trip you will have at least 2 surf coaches with you at all times, pushing you to reach your surfing potential. Our air-conditioned cars take us to the best waves depending on the wind, tide and swell, but you will find that our accommodation is as close to the best waves you can get. There are numerous great waves for total beginners in Bali and just a short five minute stroll from our accommodation in Canggu is the best beginner/intermediate wave on the island! In Balian and Medewi, the waves may break over reef, but this means long, green faces and we know when the water is deep enough and the waves less powerful to give any beginners the ride of their life. We comfortably cater for surfers of all ability levels, in the way that you are coached, as well as the spots that will be surfed. We use ISA Level 2 coaches, who are competent to coach complete beginners up to competition standard surfers. No surfing experience necessary! 7
LOMBOK In Lombok we are based off a boat so the way the coaching is done is slightly different. We use local surf guides to make sure you get good hands-on help to make the most of the friendly running reef-break waves. Once again, we use a combination of photo and video analysis as well as in-water advice to make sure you are improving quicker than ever before. The machine-like consistency of the waves in Lombok is unreal and encourages fast progress during the sessions. Anything that needs to be worked on specifically will be consolidated on land in between sessions as well as reviews of the videos and photos. NUSA LEMBONGAN Similar to Lombok, we work off a boat so it will be a combination of in-water coaching as well as photo and video analysis and feedback where beneficial. There are some great improver waves in Lembongan, some of which are quite challenging, so it is the perfect place to use the water knowledge skills and techniques that you have been taught during the trip to show off how far along you have come. WAVES WHAT SORT OF WAVES CAN SOMEONE EXPECT TO SURF? In Indonesia you get every type of wave imagineable, usually in their most perfect form, regardless if it is reef, beach break, rock or point break. In Bali we surf a mix of beach breaks, deep reef breaks, wedges and shallower reef breaks (for those who are ready). It gives a great opportunity to gain experience and to feed off the knowledge of your instructors who will guide you through every step of the way. In Lombok and Nusa Lembongan we progress riders onto reef breaks. Some are easy and soft whilst others are shallower and sharper, and once again you will only surf the spots that are most appropriate for you and move up to the more challenging spots when you are ready for it. The most amazing thing about surfing in Indonesia is how perfect the waves are, which means you really get to try the same thing over and over again until you get it right. Also being dropped off on a boat means the paddle out is easy and you get to catch more waves using less effort in a shorter space of time. It really is a surfing paradise. All riders progress onto reef breaks! 9

ACCOMMODATION Our accommodation in Indonesia is exceptionally comfortable. Airconditioned twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms are standard for us as we prioritise a good night s sleep to get you fresh for the surf the next morning. Aside from the epic rooms, some of the places have amazing swimming pools, one of which overlooks the ocean with a bar and restaurant. At all of your accommodation you will get breakfast included and we know all the local hot spots to eat out for next to nothing. Our accommodat ion in Indonesia is except ionally comfortable 11
EXTRAS There is so much to do and see in Indonesia that the only thing limiting you is adventurous inclinations.
