Liquorland Kei National Enduro Supplementary Regulations 2 nd July 2011 Held under the General Competition Rules and Standing Supplementary Regulations of Motor Sport South Africa (MSA), these Supplementary Regulation, MSA Border Regional Circular No BOR 01/2011., Commission Circulars and any Final Instructions issued by the Organisers. 1. MOTORSPORT South Africa PERMIT NUMBER: MSA 11528 1.1. The MSA flag will be flown in a prominent position at main control. 2. VENUE: Inkwenkwezi - East London 3. DATE: 2 nd July 2011 4. Event & Status: 4.1. The event will be the 4 th Round of the South African Liquorland Enduro Championship 4.2. It will start @ 16H00 on the 1 st July 2011 when documentation commences & will be deemed finished once the results are final. 4.3. The route will be marked in accordance with SSR 340. 5. Event Description: 5.1. General, Refer to Enduro Article 1 5.2. The route must be practicable in all kinds of weather conditions. 5.3. The event will be run on real time, i.e. S.A. Standard Time. 5.4. The event will consist of a combination of Regularity and Special Stages 5.5. The route will consist of 1 loop, to be ridden 4 x totalling approx... 180km s. 6. Classes: 6.1. National Refer Enduro Article 12. 6.1.1. (200cc, Open, Senior, Masters, Silver & 400+) 6.2. Club 6.2.1. (Social & Ladies.) 7. Eligibility & Pre-Start Requirements: 7.1. Competitors; 7.1.1. All competitors must comply with Enduro article 9(a) 7.1.2. All competitors must be the holders of a MSA Licence endorsed for Off Road or Enduro applicable to the class entered. Where the entrant is not the rider, an entrants licence must be obtained from MSA prior to the submission of the entry form, failing which the entrant s name may not be published in the Official Program or Results.

7.2. Motorcycles; 7.2.1. All motorcycles must comply with Enduro Article 9(b) 7.2.2. National, Regional and Club competitors who have not yet obtained an annual competition number from MSA must do so prior to entering by contacting Cindy on 011 466 2449 7.3. Advertising; 7.3.1. Competitor s attention is drawn to GCR 246 and GCR 247, which makes it a condition to display sponsors advertising materials supplied by the Organizers. 7.4. Acquaintance with & Submission to the Rules; 7.4.1. Competitor s attention is drawn to GCR 122 on this regard 8. Rider & Change Of Rider Or Machine: 8.1. A change of Rider or Machine, but not both, may be permitted by the Stewards of the Meeting, refer GCR s 99(vii), 152(viii), 238(i) & 259. Any application for such change must be made in writing & must reach the Clerk of the Course 24 hours before the examination time of the machine, Enduro Article 16. 9. Entries: - Refer GCR 95 & 96: 9.1. Entries open immediately and close at 17H00 on Monday 20 th June 2011 for National Classes. 9.2. Club Entries close at 17H00 on Monday 27 th June 2011. 9.3. Late Entries will be accepted until 08h00 Wednesday 29 th June 2011, at an additional fee of R200.00. Late entries WILL start at the back. 9.4. Proof of Payment MUST accompany entry form, 9.5. Entry Forms That Are Not Fully Completed With The Information As Requested And Not Accompanied By The Relevant Fee And Proof Of Payment Thereof Will Not Be Accepted. 9.6. Entry Fee: 9.6.1. The entry fee includes the MSA & Commission levies National; Open/200cc/400+ R850.00 National; Seniors/Masters/Silver R750.00 Club; Social/Ladies R350.00 9.7. Faxed/E-mail Entries: 9.7.1. Faxed/E-mail entries will be accepted in accordance with GCR 96. 9.7.2. Competitors wishing to enter by fax or e-mail must deposit their entry fee directly into the club s bank account as detailed below and are to fax/e-mail the slip, entry and medical information forms to the number given below. 10. Documentation: 10.1. Competitors that cannot do documentation on Friday 1 st July 2011,can by prior arrangement complete documentation on the 2 nd July 2011 between 7H30 8H00 11. Rider s Briefing: 11.1. A riders briefing will be held on 2 nd July 2011 at 8H30 on the starting line at Main Control. Riders briefing is Compulsory 12. Programme Of Events: 12.1. Friday 1 st July 2011 12.1.1. Documentation and self Scrutineering will take place between 16H00 & 21H00 at Umnenga Lodge 12.2. Saturday 2 nd July 2011 12.2.1. Riders Briefing for competitors will take place at 8H30 at Main control 12.2.2. All motorcycles must be on the start line by 8H15 12.2.3. The start will be at 9H00 at Main Control 12.2.4. The last competitors are expected to finish at Inkwenkwezi Farm at approximately 16H00. 12.2.5. Provisional results will be posted at 18H30 at Inkwenkwezi Game Lodge. 12.2.6. Meals to be served from 19H00 at Inkwenkwezi Game Lodge, Meal tickets only available for purchase on entry form. Not at venue. 12.2.7. Prize giving at Inkwenkwezi Game Lodge will commence at 20H30. Definitely not Later 13. Impound and Final Examination: 13.1. The event will be run on an Open Control System and there will be no overnight impound 13.2. Final examination Refer Enduro article 42 14. Start/Finish and Working areas: 14.1. The start/finish will be at Inkwenkwezi Farm Main Control 14.2. The event will have a dead engine start. 14.3. There will be one working area for all competitors. Refer Enduro Article 24 Outside Assistance 14.4. Refuse bags will be issued at documentation, please assist us in keeping the areas clean, dispose of all waste and papers in these bags and dump these in the demarcated areas. 15. Official Notice Board 15.1. Race Headquarters: 15.1.1. Race Headquarters will be situated at Inkwenkwezi Game Lodge 15.2. Official Notice Board 15.2.1. The Official Notice Board on race day 2 nd July 2011 will be situated at Inkwenkwezi Farm, Main Control. All official notices will be posted on this board and competitors are requested to check the notice board periodically. 15.2.2. The Official Notice Board after the last competitors have finished on race day 2 nd July 2011 will be situated at Inkwenkwezi Game Lodge, Race Headquarters. All official notices and results will be posted on this board and competitors are requested to check the notice board periodically.

16. Penalties 16.1. Refer to Enduro Article 43 16.2. Failure to notify the Organisers of Retirement Refer SSR 352(h) of the Off Road Motorcycles regulations 17. Results: 19.1. Results 20. Protest & Appeals Provisional results will be posted approximately 1 hour after the last competitors complete the event on the Official Notice Board at Inkwenkwezi Game Lodge Race Headquarters. Subject to no protests being received in terms of SSR 3 & GCR 200 (viii), these will become final 30 minute later. Should there be an unreasonable delay in announcing the results; the Stewards of the Meeting may postpone such announcement. Refer GCR 280(ii) Competitors attention is drawn to Parts IX and X and Appendix R of the MSA Handbook for protests and appeals. 21. Rights of the Clerk of the Course/Promoters & Organisers The Clerk of the Course reserves the right (subject to the approval of the Stewarts of the Meeting) to: 21.1. Alter departure times & the route if forced to do so through weather conditions, or for any other reasons. 21.2. To alter the starting & scoring methods, if it is found necessary to do so. The organizers & promoters reserve the right (subject to the approval of MSA) to: 21.3. Postpone, abandon or cancel the event for reasons of force majeure (GCR 62 & 244). 21.4. In the event of postponement for more than twenty four hours Refer to GCR 109 (iv) for refund of entry fees

21.5. Postpone, abandon or cancel the event if fewer than 80 paid up entries are received by the time entries close, refer GCR 99(v) 21.6. Refuse an entry. Refer GCR 99(i) & 100 21.7. With the exception of the Stewarts of the Meeting and any Observers who may be appointed, all Officials are authorised to assist competitors. Refer Enduro Article 24 Observers/Judges of Fact 21.8. Judges of Fact and or Observers may be appointed in terms of GCR 162 21.9. A full list of Officials will be placed on the Official Notice Board 22. Championship points: 22.1. As per Article 7 of the Enduro SSR s. 23. Awards & Prize Giving: 23.1. All awards will be presented to the rider, unless the entrant claims the awards in writing upon entering the event. Refer GCR 281(i) 23.2. Competitors must be classified as finishers of the event to be eligible for awards that are based on the final results of the event. Refer GCR 281(iv). This however, does not apply to special awards, which the Organisers may choose to make. 23.3. All awards will be distributed at prize giving. Any competitor who is not present and who has not made prior arrangements with the Clerk of the Course or Secretary of the Meeting shall forfeit all such awards. Competitor s attention is drawn to GCR280 (iii). 23.4. Awards in the form of trophies will be made to the riders placed 1 st to 6 th in all national classes and 1 st to 3 rd in other classes. Finisher s badges will be awarded to all competitors classified as finishes 23.5. The following Special Awards in the form of trophies will be distributed at prize giving; Fastest Special Stage 1, Fastest Special Stage 2, Last Finisher, First Female Competitor, First Club Member Of The Organising Club, & Manufacturers Trophy. 24. Competitors Conduct: Accident/Injuries: 24.1. In the event of anyone being injured, competitors are obliged to stop & render whatever assistance may be needed, in case of a serious injury DO NOT move the injured competitor unless he/she is in a dangerous position. THE NEXT MARSHAL MUST BE INFORMED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IN ORDER TO SUMMON ASSISTANCE, PLEASE GIVE THE MARSHAL THE INJURED COMPETITORS NAME, RACE No & LOCATION. 24.2. Refer Enduro Article 25 24.3. WHEN AN AMBULANCE IS ENCOUNTERED EN ROUTE, IT HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY AT ALL TIMES!! Incident Report Forms: 24.4. All competitors will be issued with an Incident Report Form at documentation. Should a competitor fail to report any incidents involving damage to any person or property, in addition to penalties laid down in Enduro Article 27. 24.5. These will be issued at documentation. It I important that these forms are filled in with all your relevant information, then handed in at the finish with any incidents to be reported within 1 (one) hour after finishing the race. 24.6. There will be sweep vehicles to pick up riders who are stranded. Competitors are to note that the organizers are not obliged under any circumstances to provide service for the recovery of motorcycles or quads, although they will endeavour to assist where possible.

24.7. Fine for non-return of Incident Report and or failure to notify organizers of retirement R1000.00 24.8. Refer SSR 352 Retirement; 24.9. Should a competitor retire from the event he/she is to immediately notify the nearest marshal/official of this fact in writing. Route; 24.10. Livestock and game may be encountered along the route and you are requested to give them right of way at all times. 24.11. In many places the route may be narrow and dust may also be a problem, you should therefore afford any competitor who has caught up with you, every opportunity to overtake. 24.12. The residents in the area have afforded us the privilege of staging this event through both populated and remote areas. Please exercise caution through farms and cultivated areas and were livestock is concerned and also beware of children in the vicinity of the route. In order that the event may continue to take place in the future, competitors are required to act responsibly. Controls and Procedures at Controls; 24.13. Competitors attention is drawn to Enduro Article 31 & 34 Crossing of Public/District Roads; 24.14. As the organizer we have fully acquainted ourselves with SSR 341 of the MSA Non Circuit Handbook with regards to crossing of public/district roads 24.15. We the organizers are also aware and have acquainted ourselves with the provisions of Section 317 of the road traffic act and confirm that the event officials have been made aware of the above section. 24.16. By allowing the event to proceed we accept that all requirements are complied with and where applicable all relevant permissions are in place. 24.17. Competitor s attention is drawn to the Off Road M/Cycle & Quad SSR 341. 24.18. The event will be staged on private property - however the tracks must be treated live at all times. This private property is out of bounds to all except race officials. Failure to adhere to this ruling will be EXCLUSION 25. Alcohol: 25.1. It is forbidden for any competitor and competitors service/back crew to consume alcohol while taking part in an event, or in the time period between the competitor completing the event and lodging an official protect. Refer GCR 118 26. Refuelling: 26.1. Refuelling and servicing will take place at the start/finish in a designated area (DSP). Refer SSR 345 27. Environmental Code: 27.1. Competitor s attention is drawn to the MSA Environmental Code. 27.2. The use of environmental mats during servicing & refuelling is compulsory. Refer MSA environmental Code 14.13.3 & 18.7 COMPETITORS & THEIR SERVICE CREWS ARE ADVISED TO FAMILIARIZE THEMSELVES WITH MSA S ENVIRONMENTAL CODE IN THE 2011 HANDBOOK

28. General 28.1. Directions: from Gauteng; Take N6 to East London, @ the Beacon Bay traffic circle turn right, proceed along the N6 until robots, turn left onto the N2 towards Mthatha, proceed along the N2 & +/- 6Km s after the Gonubie turn off take the (1060) R102, Brakfontein off ramp, turn right at the stop and proceed for 1.8km s, turn left onto Schafli Road (T1 Jikeleza Route), proceed for +/-12.6km s,turn right at the Glen Eden (T6 Jikeleza Route) proceed for 2km s and turn left into Umnenga Lodge 28.2. Directions: from Kwa Zulu; Take N2 to East London, +/- 18km s before East London (Mthatha side), take the (1060) R102, Brakfontein off ramp, turn left at the stop and proceed for 1.8km s, turn left onto Schafli Road (T1 Jikeleza Route), proceed for +/-12.6km s,turn right at the Glen Eden (T6 Jikeleza Route) proceed for 2km s and turn left into Umnenga Lodge 28.3.
