Griman led the golf team last week with a scoring average of 41 over 4 matches, including a season and career low of 36 in the win against Ben Davis. He also carries a 3.984 GPA. Rudich helped the softball team to 4 wins, including a big win over MIC and township rival LC to push their MIC record to 5-1. She went 11-19 over 6 games for a batting average of.579. She ranks 5 th in her class with a GPA of 4.684. Great job Jack and Meredith, you show what it means to be a student-athlete at Lawrence North!

Baseball: The Wildcats (14-10, 7-5 MIC) beat Southport in the Marion County tournament 5-1 in 8 innings behind excellent pitching by Dylan Scheid to advance to the semifinals. Unfortunately, the Cats lost a heartbreaker to Brebeuf, 2-1, ending their Marion County run. The team also split a pair of MIC game with LC. The Bears won the first game, 4-2, while the Wildcats won the second game, 5-1, as Sam Paddock picked up his 5 th pitching win of the season. Max Wills is leading the team in hitting with a.436 batting average. Garrett Burhenn has a 5-2 record on the mound with an ERA of 1.853. He is also batting.329. Golf: Lawrence North hosted Heritage Christian in what could be a sectional preview. The Eagles edged the Wildcats, 173-179. Jack Griman and Drew Conrad were low men for LN, both shooting a 43. The Wildcats played against Ritter at Eagle Creek the following day, losing 163-191. Griman was low man again for the Cats, shooting a 41. On Wednesday, the Cats played their best golf of the week, getting a solid MIC win over Ben Davis, 172-185. Jack Griman was low man again, this time shooting a season and personal best score of 36! The Cats closed out the week with a loss to Roncalli, 158-185. Griman led the team once again, shooting a 44. His four match average this week came in at 41. Great week, Jack! The golfers will be playing in the MIC championships this week at Praire View, and then three matches against North central, Mt. Vernon, and Park Tudor.

Softball: The Wildcats (11-10, 5-1 MIC) went 4-2 this week, losing to Brownsburg (8-4) and Mt. Vernon (11-7) and getting great wins over LC (7-6), 20 th ranked Zionsville (4-2), and sweeping Western Boone on Saturday (4-3 & 10-9). In the WB games, the Cats came back in both games to take the win. In the first game, down 3-0, the Cats fought back to tie it and then got a walk-off home run by Taylor Erschen to win, 4-3. In the second WB game, the team was down 9-2 in the 6 th. They came back to tie it 9-9, and then won it in extra innings, 10-9. These kids never quit! Leading the way at the plate this week were Erschen (.400, 4 HR), Raniah Rogers (.474, 2 HR), Maddie Howe (.500), and Meredith Rudich (.579). Erschen and Leah Richards have been a great 1-2 punch on the mound. The Cats will play for a share of the MIC championship against #3 Center Grove on Tuesday, and then finish the regular season against Guerin Catholic, Franklin Central, and Greenfield-Central. Great job, Cats!! Keep it up! Pictures courtesy of Victory Views.

Tennis: The tennis team lost to eventual champion North Central in the first round of the Marion County tournament, but came back to beat Lawrence Central at home 5-0. The team will play Ben Davis on Monday to finish the regular season before hosting the IHSAA sectional later this week. The Cats will open up sectional play on Thursday against Warren Central. Should they win, they would play for the sectional championship on Friday. Good luck, ladies! Finish the season strong! Pictures by LN sports photographer Jared Rigdon.
