The Hooks are coming off a banner year after posting an 89-51 record last season, which stands as the winningest campaign in club history. The 2015 club racked up the most triumphs in minor league baseball and was the second Texas League club in the last 20 seasons to reach 89 victories in a single campaign. In addition to its remarkable record, Corpus Christi facilitated 13 Triple-A promotions, helping Fresno to Pacific Coast League and Triple-A National Championship titles. Three Hooks players were packaged in the trade with Milwaukee which netted Houston outfielder Carlos Gomez and right-handed pitcher Mike Fiers. A trio of Hooks pitchers went directly from Whataburger Field to Minute Maid Park: right-handers Lance McCullers, Michael Feliz and Vince Velasquez. 2015 American League Rookie of the Year Carlos Correa began the season with the Hooks before being promoted to Triple-A Fresno in mid-may. Tonight marks the 6th Opening Day meeting between the Hooks and Tulsa. Corpus Christi won 3 of the first 5 matchups.
