ANY CLASS ON THE AHA CLASS LIST or that is recognized by AHA can be considered for a TBA class with the exception of Trail, Dressage, Sport Horse, Cutting, Working Cow, and Reined Cow. To activate a TBA class, the exhibitor must: Select and name a class, Enter the class by paying the class entry fee $20, Pay the TBA class sponsorship fee of $50. Once the class has been activated, all exhibitors will be informed by email and posting a notice in the show office at the show. At that time, all exhibitors will have the opportunity to enter the activated class at the regular class fee. ENTRIES GENERAL INFORMATION ENTRIES Entries will not be processed unless accompanied by the total payment. There will be a fee of up to $20 per entry assessment for missing copies of pedigree, registration, and/or AHA card, and/or payment. To avoid penalty fees, Entries must be postmarked April 20, 2018. STRICTLY ENFORCED! ENTRY INFORMATION Official Entry Form for this Show MUST be used; forms must be complete. One Owner per Form. No Horse may be entered on more than one form. Payment must accompany entry form. Include check or money order for total entry fees, stall, tack and all other applicable fees. Open checks will be closed for the amount due at the time entries are processes. No open check will be held until show time. Entries received without a valid check or money order will not be processed until payment is received and will be subject to post entry penalties. Include copies of Registration papers, with pedigree for each horse entered. Walk Trot riders must list their birth dates on the back of the entry form under the parent signature. If address of Walk Trot rider is different than owner listed on entry form, please write the Walk Trot rider address on the back of the entry form. Horses entered in Amateur Owner and Junior Owner classes must be registered in the name of competitor or member of competitor s family. Every Owner, Exhibitor, Trainer, Coach & Rider/Driver/Handler or his/her agent(s) must sign the back of the entry blank. In the case of a Rider/Driver/Handler under 19, his/her parent or guardian, or if not available, the trainer, must sign the entry blank on minor s behalf. Junior Owners are not eligible to sign as trainer adult must sign as trainer. Include copies of current AHA Competition Membership cards for Trainer, Rider, Coach, Handler, Drivers and Junior Owner and Rider. Entries submitted after the close of entries, the entry will be considered late and post entry fees will be charged. INCOMPLETE ENTRY FEE (not to exceed $20) may be assessed on any entry that is received without the following: entry form, missing copies of registration papers, missing copies of AHA & USEF cards for trainers, owners, riders or handlers, coached, missing signatures, missing payments. POST ENTRY DEADLINE For horses already entered in the show, post entries will be accepted up to 1 hour prior to the class. New horses must be entered 4 hours prior to the class. SHOW OFFICE AND REGISTRATION Registration at the Horse Show Office by the exhibitor is required upon arrival at the show grounds. The show office will open at 10 AM on Friday May 4, and daily one hour prior to the start of the first class. Closed for lunch and dinner. Closed after the last class of each day except Sunday. Office will stay open 1 hour after the last class. PORTABLE STALLS - Portable barns may be assembled on the show grounds, if needed. Portable stalls have full doors with canvas roofs. Stalls are lighted & water is located close to each barn. TRAILERS - Exhibitors showing from trailers will be assigned a designated parking area and will be charged a grounds fee of $25 PER HORSE PER DAY, to be remitted with entry fees. Every horse entered in this show, with the exception of nursing foals stabled with their dams, must pay either a stall fee or a grounds fee. The Barn Manager will be on the grounds throughout the Show. Page 5 STALL FACILITIES - The Stable Area of the LAEC Show Grounds will be open to exhibitors May 4 through May 7. Exhibitors are to vacate the show grounds by noon on Monday, May 9. Anyone wishing to arrive early or depart late must make arrangements with the Barn Manager - Rodney Goertzen (559) 730-9192 at least 2 weeks in advance. Early arrivals and/or late departures will be charged for each stall and/or tack room. Stabling will be allocated on the basis of horses entered in the show by the Close of Entries April 20, 2018. Assignments of stalls are entirely at the prerogative of the Show Management. Horses must be placed in stalls assigned and no changes will be permitted without the express consent of the Barn Manager. Stalls for post entered horses may be subject to availability, all permanent box stalls are 12' x 12' and either have a full door or doors with split top & bottom door. Pre bedding will NOT be provided. *BE ADVISED: Regarding stall requests for horses entered after April 18, 2018 or post entered late and requesting stabling with other horses previously entered, original stalling assignments will not be changed to accommodate the late entry. Management will try to stable late entries as close as possible to other entries but no guarantees can be made. Show management's decision is final. DECORATIONS - to the front of the stalls cannot extend more than 6'. By the order of the Fire Marshall, all aisle ways between stalls must remain open. All materials used for decorative purposed must be treated with flame proofing and are subject to the approval of the Fire Department. The use of electric, open flame or space heaters is prohibited. Cooking or any heat/flame food prep0aration is not allowed in the stall area. Authorized electrical appliances for grooming purposes may be used in designated barn areas only. The show grounds electrical system may not be altered or tampered with under any circumstances. AWARDS - Ribbons to first and ribbons to 6th. In-Hand Championships ribbon to first, ribbon to second. FEED AND SHAVINGS Bedding, hay and grain will be available during the show through US Feed and Shavings. The number is 818-559-9699. Stalls will NOT be pre-bedded. GENERAL INFORMATION EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFCATIONS OF THE CURRENT FEDERATION RULE BOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH. AHA MEMBERSHIP REQUREMENTS - Copies of ALL trainer's, driver's rider's and Breeding/In-Hand handler's and at least ONE Owner's current AHA Competition Membership Cards MUST be included with the horse show entry form at the time of entry. Any owner, trainer, driver, rider, breeding/in-hand handler who exhibits horses in the show ring or signs the entry form as the responsible person for any individual's horses at the show must be a current competition member of A.H.A at the time of entry and at the time of showing, For the Regular Show classes only, an AHA Single Event Membership Fee of $35 must be paid if not a current competition member of AHA or you do not have a current competition car. Membership Affidavits are no longer available. ADMISSTION TO RING - No person will be permitted to enter the ring except participants in the class, judges, and their assistants and show officials. Attendants and grooms may enter the ring only when summoned by order of the judge. In all cases requiring grooms or other assistants, proper attire is required. AMATEUR OWNER FAMILY DEFINITION - See GR 1307 in USEF Rule Book CRUELTY AND ABUSE - Cruelty to or the abuse of a horse by any person at a recognized show is forbidden. Excessive use of a whip on any horse in a stall, runway, schooling area, show ring, or elsewhere on the show grounds before or during a show, by any person, constitutes a violation and renders the offender subject to penalty. (See GR839). DISQUALIFICATION - Any horse doctored in any way, artificially, improperly or unfairly prepared or tampered with before entering the show ring will be disqualified. If it is ascertained that any exhibitor has made or caused to be made, any false statement in regard to any animal or article exhibited or if any exhibitor shall attempt to interfere with the judges in the performances of their duties, he or she shall be excluded from competing, or exhibiting. In case any animal is disqualified, the winner of the next succeeding prize in the classes shall take the prize that has been awarded to such disqualified animal and the lower moneyed prize in the class shall go to the reserve number. DOGS OR OTHER PETS will be permitted on the grounds of the 19th District Agriculture Association but must be under leash control by owner. Any animals running fee will be impounded and removed from the grounds. A $25 impounding fee will be charged. DRUG FEE - A $5 fee per horse will be collected for State of California Drug Testing. GATE RULE Due to a FULL schedule of classes, the TWO-MINUTE limit after last call for a class will be strictly enforced. Exhibitors are cautioned against entering the same horse in successive classes. The gate will close 2 minutes after the first horse enters the ring or in cases with large classes taking more than 2 minutes, at the completion of final horse in the continuous string of horses. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be sure that his/her horse is at the gate on time. Class calls must be considered a courtesy only. No protests will be upheld on the basis of a public address system malfunction. HEADGEAR - All juniors riding in Hunter Seat Equitation sections must wear properly fitting protective headgear while riding in the designated schooling * exercise areas, the show ring & while jumping anywhere on the competition grounds Harness must be secured & properly fitted. Any rider violating this rule must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. Any exhibitor may wear protective headgear (ASTM/SEA) in any division or class without penalty from the judge. JUDGES If, for any reason, a judge fails to attend this show or perform his duties, the Show Committee reserves the right to substitute a judge for the one who is officially designated in the Prize List. It is a violation of USEF Rules to commit any act or make remarks during the show that are considered offensive and/or made with the intent to influence or cast aspersions on the judging. No one shall approach a Judge with regard to a decision or at any time unless he first obtains permission from the Show Committee or Steward who shall arrange an appointment with the Judge at a proper time and place. INDEMNITY AND NON-RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSES All entries are accepted with the understanding that the REGION 2 ARABIAN HORSE ASSOCIATION, THE, LAEC, AHA and the NINETEENTH AGRICULURAL DISTRICT OF THE State of CALIFORNIA will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any horse exhibited, or any article of any kind. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the Show Committee but solely at the risk of the exhibitor, who will be responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any person, animal or property occasioned by him, his agents or employees, or by an animal owned or exhibited by him, and shall indemnify REGION 2 ARABIAN HORSE ASSOCIATION, LAEC SHOW GROUNDS, AHA and the NINETEENTH AGRICULURAL DISTRICT OF THE State of CALIFORNIA against any and all loss, damages and liability thus occasioned, including but not limited to any and all legal costs, including attorney fees, which may be incurred as a result thereof. The submitting of an entry form to the Show Secretary shall constitute an acceptance by each person signing same of the revisions herein set forth. HOSPITALITY Coffee and donuts will be available each show day at 6:30 a.m. in the front of the horse show office. LOCATION OF CLASSES Show management reserves the right to hold classes, or portions of classes, on the grounds outside designated arenas if it is found necessary to do so, or to change and/or modify the Schedule of Events as necessary to accommodate the entries received. OVERNIGHT PARKING SLEEPING UNITS Anyone sleeping in ANY Vehicle overnight must pay the permit fee & park in the RV lot unless otherwise cleared with the RV manage. FIRE REGULATIONS PROHIBIT PARKING BETWEEN BARNS As soon as you unload your horse, please move your vehicle to a designated parking area. Parking in the barn area is prohibited. Vehicles in No Parking areas will be towed at the owner s expense. Access to the barn area during the show hours will be limited! POLICY ON ETHICS & SPORTMANSHIP In the spirit of good sportsmanship, Region 2 Arabian Horse Association has endeavored to instill the highest possible ethical standards in all of its employees and officials. We believe that high ethical standards and true sportsmanship are the hallmarks of a great and successful horse show. We further believe that the exhibitors, owners and trainers at this horse show share these ideals. We have, therefore, instructed all judges, stewards and other show officials to equitably enforce all USE and AHA rules, including USEF GR302.1g, AR107.5 and AR107.6 RETURNED CHECKS If a check is returned, a return check fee of $35 will be assessed. ALL fees must be paid in full by cash, cashier s check, or money order before exhibitor packet will be released. GOLF CARTS AND MOTORIZED VEHICLES Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. REFUNDS & CANCELATION OF ENTRY To encourage early entries, the Management agrees to cancel & refund fees on any horse not fit to show providing written notice from a licensed veterinarian is given to the Show Secretary on or before entry closing date April 20, 2018. Horses may be scratched from the show t the owner s option. Refunds of entry and stall fees will be considered for any horse suffering from illness or injury upon the presentation of a veterinarian s certificate accompanied by a letter to the Show Secretary explaining the circumstances PRIOR to the start of said show. Exhibitors canceling their entries for any reason after the start of said show shall forfeit all fees. Substitution of horses will be permitted (see USEF GR911). RULES This Horse Show is conducted in accordance with the rules of USEF. The Prize List and the show are based on rules of the current USEF Rule Book and the AHA Handbook; any changes or corrections of rules will automatically become a part of the Prize List. Each participant in this show is responsible for knowledge of and is subject to the USEF and AHA Rules. Every class offered herein which is covered by the Rules and Specification of the current USEF Rule Book and the AHA Handbook will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. Questions not covered by USEF and AHA Rules shall be decided by the Show Committee and its decisions will be final. SCRATCHING OR CANCELING CLASSES As a COURTESY o the GATEMEN, ANNOUNCER and SHOW OFFICE, exhibitors are requested to notify the GATEMEN and SHOW OFFICE when it is necessary to scratch or cancel a class entered. This courtesy will enable the Show to run more efficiently. Your consideration will be greatly appreciated. VETERINARIAN A veterinarian will be on call throughout the show. All animals are subject to physical inspection by the Show Veterinarian at the discretion of the Show Committee. The Show Management reserves the right to refuse entry onto the show grounds to any horse exposed to, or which may be harboring a communicable disease. No veterinarian other than the official show veterinarian will be permitted to treat, medicate, or attend to a horse on the grounds. Anyone wishing to use another veterinarian other than the official Show Veterinarian on the grounds must obtain permission from Show Manager. AHA ENTRY AGREEMENT I have read the rules concerning competitions as printed in the Arabian Horse Association (AHA) Handbook / Directory and Competition Prize List and agree to be bound by and subject to those Rules. AHA ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION This document waives very important legal rights. Read it carefully before signing. In consideration for AHA permitting me to participate in this Competition, and by signing the entry blank, I agree as follows: I AGREE that I choose to participate voluntarily in this Competition, as a rider, driver, handler, lessee, owner, agent, coach, trainer, junior exhibitor, or as a parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor. I AM FULLY AWARE AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HORSE SPORTS AND PARTICIPATION IN THIS COMPETITION INVOLVE SERIOUS RISK OF HARM INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, RISKS OF ACCIDENT, SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, INCLUDING DEATH, BROKEN BONES, HEAD INJURIES, TRAUMA, PAIN, AND SUFFERING, AND PROPERTY DAMAGE. Should a hearing be requested, I agree to accept AS FINAL the decision of the particular hearing body. I agree to release, hold harmless and not to sue AHA, the Competition Sponsor, their officers, directors, employees, volunteers or members concerning any decision of AHA, the Competition, its Show Commission, Show Officials or any hearing body that relates to my qualifications or my horse(s) qualifications to enter the Competition or any results of the Competition. I AGREE that AHA has the sole right to control, sell, supervise or give away (or assign to others the right to do so) the exclusive rights to broadcast, televise, reproduce, transmit and disseminate all or part of this event, and I agree that AHA may use or assign, in any way AHA sees fit, photographs, films, videos, audios, cablecasts, or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the Competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the Competition or AHA. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way which implies endorsement of any company, product, product category or service. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation. By signing below as a parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor, I consent to the child s participation and agree to all of the above provisions, and further agree to assume all of the obligations of this AHA Assumption of Risk, Release and Indemnification personally and on behalf of the child. This AHA Assumption of Risk, Release and Indemnification is governed by the Laws of the State of Colorado and is intended to be interpreted as broadly as possible. I agree that exclusive jurisdiction and venue (place) for any legal action against AHA, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers or agents shall be in the local district courts or the federal court of the State of Colorado. If any part of this agreement is determined to be unenforceable, all other parts shall remain effect.
