Yestertday, at a reception at Johns Hopkins University in Rockville, 4 of Watkins Mill HS art students had their paintings chosen and displayed from among many Montgomery County high schools and over 150 entries. And the best part Raheel Raad s painting, titled revealing won 1 ST PLACE. Raheel received $100 gift certificate as well. Great job.

The permit testing that was originally scheduled for January 30th has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 20 at WMHS at 12:00. Please come to the main office and fill out the permission slips. Attention Students. Saturday school is continued to be offered here at the mill. If you need help with work, need help studying, or need more time to learn a subject Saturday school is the place to be. Attention all 10 th, 11 th and 12 th graders: Are you undecided about what you want to be when you get older? If so, then take the ASVAB, a career interest inventory, that will be given here at Watkins Mill on February 26.
The ASVAB will help identify your strengths and match you up with careers that would be a good fit. The ASVAB is also for students who might want to join the military. Students need a signed permission slip which can be found on the College/Career Center page or in the Center. Thank you
To all college bound Seniors: Check out the blue scholarship bin in the College/Career Center. Several fraternities and sororities and civic organizations want to give you money but you have to apply. If you have at least a 3.0 cumulative weighted GPA and are going to MC next year, pick up the Board of Trustees Scholarship. Additional scholarships can be found on the College/Career Center page.
The Montgomery Scholars and the Macklin Business Scholars Programs deadlines have been extended until today Friday, February 5. Please see your counselor
On Wednesday Feb 17 there will be a college fair at Paint Branch HS for all high school students and their parents featuring 60 historically black colleges. The fair is from 6 pm to 8 pm. Students must register to attend. Take a picture of the link on one of the many flyers in the halls. Print out the registration ticket and take it with you to the fair. This is a great opportunity to learn about academic programs and scholarship opportunities..
The NAACP Scholarship for any minority senior with a 3.0 weighted GPA or higher and community service is available now in the College/Career Center. There will be several awards of $1000. The deadline has been extended until February 26. Now for some wolverine sports
