I LOVE y all very much and am very thankful for each and every one of y all!!!! Every one of you bring something special to the club and makes us a GREAT TEAM!!! Along with some amazing Mopars!!!! Hurray! I am now the newest customer service agent at Summit Racing Equipment. Stay cool guys!!!! Go Team Mopar!!! In The Works Howdy fellow Mopar owners. I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day!! The heat is on now and will be for a few months. Cowtown Mopars will be heating up the roads during that time. As of publication date, discussions with the Galaxy Drive-In in Ennis are on going. This event will be moved to July. We are working on a couple of ideas for the club to make this a really exciting event. In place of the drive-inn, we will return to a club favorite, Pops Burgers in Waxahachie. It has been a club favorite and the owner Pops really enjoys us coming out to see him. We will meet at Pops at 6:00pm on Saturday June 30th And another club favorite, monthly breakfast at Rudy s. This will be on Saturday June 16th at 9am. Also on the 16th is a great car show. It is at Calvary Baptist Church, 401 Church St, Grand Prairie from 4-8 pm. I have attended this show for several years and it is a great show. They do have a really big trophy for club participation and I would love to see Cowtown Mopar members show up in great numbers and bring home this trophy. The form for the show will be shared on Facebook. Watch for reminders of this and other events on Facebook as well as the club website. And watch for next month s newsletter for details on the the drive-in movies and on a trip to Hemi Hideout. As always, thank you for all the support and can t wait to see you guys on the road. Chris Club Members Your Car is the Star Have your car professionally photographed. One of our club sponsors, Photography by Lydia, has a special offer for club members only. Off The Wing by Barry Hansen We must have done something right dept...positive feedback continues from our Spring car show. Summit Racing still talking about how well we ran the show. They are already talking about next year. Have not got to talk to Classic CDJRF yet but hope they were pleased. As I mentioned last month I really got a kick out of the Trans Am Challenger right inside the store and a crowd always around it. My work schedule finally allowed me to attend the May Cowtown Breakfast Club at Rudys. The wife got to go this time and experience the best breakfast burritos anywhere (Rudys calls them tacos but they're really burritos). The group was small but fun. May monthly meeting was at Bill Boon's. Bill and his wife provided the hospitality and the club provided burgers from our smoker trailer. Wonderful just wonderful. Speaking of burgers, Chris has Pops Burgers as well as breakfast at Rudys for us in June. Hope to see you there. Mopar spotting...watching Matlock before work the other morning, story was a flashback to the 1950s, Matlock driving a beautiful post war candy apple red 4 door Plymouth. With stuff like this dept...april issue of Motor Trend tested full size SUVs. Durango, Tahoe, Expedition, Armada, Sequoia. The Durango was one of the less expensive vehicles, won most of the tests, the few it did not win it placed 2nd and yet the Tahoe was declared the winner. Now there are two big bowtie ads in the magazine and no Mopar ads. Coincidence? I think not. Thankfully my subscription has expired. Old news dept...dan Gurney died January 14 after an extraordinary 86 year life. Like some of my other favorite racers, Don Garlits, A J Foyt, Mario Andretti, he is truly a legend. Like A J Foyt he won in just about every form of road racing, Indy, NASCAR, dirt track, Trans Am, SCCA, Le Mans, others. The only American to win a F1 race in an American car (his). Drove a Superbird in NASCAR and an AAR Cuda in Trans Am. In his early days teamed with Carroll Shelby (a Dallas boy done good) for a while. With these new engines making over 2000 horsepower about the only transmission that will hold up is a Chrysler 727. quote from a funny car owner in a 1970 issue of Car Craft magazine More from the Spring show by Lisa Key Got a groovy little street machine with a full blown Chrysler mill... by Lisa Key SVO taken to the next level by Lisa Key Imagine plum crazy, white interior, ragtop in a new Challenger

The Go Fast(er) Department Bobby Avis and Don Deering Race Team Coordinators Mike Bearse TMCCC Rep And now...seventeen TIME TMCCC CHAMPIONS!!!! Hello fellow Cowtown Mopar members. The race team hit the new Xtreme Raceway Park. They did a great job building a great place to race and the staff was great. They had a few misssteps but all in all for the first time putting on a bracket race they did a great job although it was a long day/night for everyone. It s great to have another track open close to the Metroplex. We had 24 racers show up with 7 getting awards. A great day for the race team. We had great weekend a Xtreme but we are 11 points behind the Mustang club so let s show up at Ennis on the 27th in full force and put Cowtown Mopars back on top where we belong! Once again I would like to thank Bill Boon for his continued support of the race team and the TMCCC series and a big thank you to Don and JoAn Deering for making sure we all got to eat. 2018 Race Schedule: March 25 Ennis (1/4) April 11 Abilene (1/4) May 5 (Sat) Ferris (1/8) (2p-11p) May 27 Ennis (1/4) June 10 Noble, OK (1/8) June 24 Lufkin (1/4) Sept 9 Wichita Falls (1/8) Oct 28 Ennis (1/4) Nov 17 Awards Banquet Ennis opens 8 AM Xtreme opens SAT 2p-11p All others open 9 AM Bobby Stock Muscle - Mike Bearce - Winner Stock Muscle - Jason Hammer - Runner Up Street Muscle - Kelly Hila - Runner Up Super Muscle - Stan Allen - Winner Super Muscle - JoAnn Deering - Semi Super Muscle - Rick Mariano - Semi Pro Muscle - #786L Mike E (?) - Semi Finals A BIG THANKS TO TEXAS TRAILER MAN FOR BEING OUR 2017 COWTOWN MOPARS RACE TEAM SPONSOR.
