December 19, 2018 Dear Families, To be eligible for our Calendar Drive incentives, calendars and money were due Friday. Here are our top selling families, the winning class, and the prizes they won: Selling 188 calendars, the Pazakis Family- Raegan, Kindergarten $300 125 calendars, the Boghdan Family- Max, Gr. 2 and Cody, Gr. 5 $200 75 calendars, the McPherson Family- Casey, Gr. 2 and Trey, Gr. 7 $100 The class winner is Kindergarten- Mrs. Merrill Kindergarten wins an extra recess with the Gaga Pit, a pizza party, and a night off from homework. Mrs. Merrill will receive a $150 gift card to Amazon.com. Our family participation rate is just a little over 95%. Let s make it 100%! Be part of the majority, whose efforts help all our students! Calendars may still be turned in tomorrow or mailed in over vacation. After-care has become increasingly popular, especially on early dismissal days. In order to appropriately meet the needs of students, we need to know how many children to expect on early dismissal days. On these days, students must preregister for after-care. This will allow Ms. Gerry to provide the necessary number of lunches, and for the school to provide adequate coverage. The next early dismissal is January 18 th, when we have a NEASC meeting. A form to pre-register will be sent home next week.

To those of you who know Mrs. Guzman, our previous Gr. 5 teacher, I wanted to inform you her mom passed away this week after a long illness. Services are private, with a Memorial Mass next Friday. The students were very excited to see Mrs. Guzman at our Nativity Pageant this past week, and she was thrilled to see so many familiar faces. The Halloween Candy Drive, in which we participated, raised $25,000 for local families. The contributions from SPXS added $875 to this drive. Thank you to all who supported local families! You should have received an email from FACE, with a link to the application for financial aid assistance for the 2019-2020 school year. I know everyone is busy at the moment but, after Christmas, be certain to complete the application. Though your tax return will not yet be ready, you can still submit the application to FACE. If you did not receive the email, please let us know, and the info. can be forwarded. Wishing joy, peace, and love to each family this Christmas, Anne Dailey Principal

For a child has been born to us, A son given to us; May we hear and live His message And may His words bring the Peace for which the world is longing. PEACE, LOVE, AND JOY this Christmas Season The Staff and Students of St. Pius X School
