High School Social Studies Hello from the high school Social Studies department. The high school students have been busy this year learning important aspects about our society. The Freshman have been studying Civics and learning about the purpose and functions of government, as well as the Constitutional foundations on which our governments are constructed. In World History, the Sophomores have been studying the historical origins of Western Civilization and the people, events, and ideas that shape our society today. The Juniors have been studying American History from the end of the 1800 s and the people, events, and ideas that shaped American society today. As always our goal is to give our students the information that will help them understand our nation, its people, and the principles that define it. With this understanding our students can become informed and active citizens. 2018 Pirates Football Season Review The 2018 Pirates football team wrapped up its most successful season in many years by winning a district championship and getting back to the NSAA playoffs.
