Race 5: Paul Kusy, Commercial & Property Law Expert Class 4 H'cap - 1300m HIGH ACE - Tightened for room passing the 400m and had to be steadied. UMASAGA - Rider A. Hearn reported his mount hung in throughout the event and made contact with the running rail near the 300m. SHE'S A DANICA - Stewards inquired into the tactics adopted on the horse. Of particular concern was apprentice Fawke's riding between the 900 and 600m where it appeared there was an opportunity for him to have the mare settle outside the lead rather than press forward and assume the lead. Apprentice Fawke indicated he had been instructed to lead on the horse and felt that if he attempted to steady near the 900m, She's A Danica would have overraced and refused to settle. Stewards were of the view that they could not be satisfied with apprentice Fawke's explanation and advised him it was an ill-judged ride given the fast pace that was being set during that section of the event. However, given his status as an apprentice, stewards felt that they should not take the matter any further other than to draw the ride to the attention of his master. COOLOOLA - A post race veterinary examination revealed signs of tying up. Trainer A. Williamson indicated he would have blood samples taken in the coming days and would report the results to stewards. Race 6: Shane Crew, Litigation & Insurance Law Expert Class 1 H'cap - 1000m Jockey D. Griffin was fined $100 for being dually engaged on Hidden Pleasures and Swiss Music. S. Eilbeck was substituted as the rider of Hidden Pleasures. ROSIE'S COMMAND - Slow to begin. YOUNG COPPERFIELD - Checked near the 700m after improving onto the heels of Get Back, which was being restrained. After being held up rounding the home turn was then disappointed for clear running approaching the 150m and went to the line without being fully tested. KWINANA - Raced wide without cover. VISONA RED - When asked to comment on the performance, jockey D. Browne indicated that he recommended to trainer S. Mackinnon to step the gelding up to 1200m which would enable the horse to have the opportunity to settle in the middle stages in an attempt to have the horse finish it races off better. Race 7: Beth Walsh, Expert In Family Law Class 1 H'cap - 1400m LOST THIEF - Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages and after leaving the 700m improved onto heels and had to be checked before shifting wider on the track, inconveniencing another
