Our staff of Nashville professionals teach a variety of musical styles at the center; a comfortable place for all ages and levels to get private lessons, classes, and come to participate in jams. You can unsubscribe at anytime. Be sure to open the attachments in this letter see essential details! We appreciate your support and hope you would share the flyer ads; so your like-minded friends and family could attend unique Musical Heritage Events! This letter, the website, and Face Book and our base are the only means we have to get the word out to the folks that are interested in traditional music and beyond! Read on for past reflections, announcements and new calendar. January Reflections: Busy, busy, busy! The New Year got off to a fantastic start with our 7 th annual Eighth of January Old Time Music Weekend. It was a great reunion for many; also many new friends were made. I especially loved when we gathered in the great room and you could feel the swirling energy from the fun and friendly clientele playing their Old Time Music. We enjoyed the fellowship of spirited folks that love to learn and play together. A good ol time was had by everyone! The instructors were top notch and the students really got a lot out of the classes and jams. The volunteers were more helpful then I could have every asked for; and I want to say a HUGE THANKS to you for all your help. It was great to have Travis Stuart here again. He is doing well but please keep praying for Travis as he continues to fight this cancer. Travis is playing great and he is back to work. We all loved jamming with him and see his priceless smile. It was real treat having Erynn Marshall & Carl Jones for their first time at EOJ; and they were a big hit! They travel quite a bit, so I went ahead and booked them for EOJ 2020. We will have another stellar staff of instructors again. You might want to SAVE THE DATES JAN 9,10, 11 (Th, Fr & SAT) Check it out; Jan 8 th is on WED and the Hermitage is FREE that day, maybe we should have an 8 th of Jan field trip to Jackson s Home! Let us know, could be a 4 day trip you need to plan ahead. Hillary Klug s Buckdancing class at EOJ was a really fun activity for all ages and levels. We were amazed how she can teach dancing while playing fiddle and also sing! This gal is going places for sure! In the meantime, I have asked her to teach a buck dancing class this winter at Fiddle & Pick. ***IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BUCKDANCE INSTRUCTION with HILLARY, we need a head count on how many folks are interested; please text Gretchen 615-812-2192 and type memo: Buck-D, your name & e mail. Possibly meeting on a Mon or Wed evening. One weekend after EOJ I had a wonderful opportunity. My band PLAIDGRASS played the Scotland Connections concert in Collin s Auditorium at David Lipscomb University with the Nashville Pipe & Drum group. It was an honor to work with Kathy Chiavola, Alan O Bryant, and Tim May. The event was really beautifully done. I thank Pipe & Drum leader, David Goodman for his reaching out to MHC for this project. I hope we can do it again! The last weekend of Jan, I spent hosting a fiddle workshop in George Washington s Nephew s house. This was my 2 nd year in a row that I could enjoy working at this luxury historical B&B in Paducah, Ky. I finally made it over to see the famous quilt museum, which was unbelievable. It was all they said it would be. The town of Paducah is a great destination to visit! Thank you Val for your excellence and hospitality. Had a great time with Lisa, Joy, Tori and Val, and Mark!
