Box Tops deadline extended Due to the late Box Top announcement, we are extending the deadline to Monday, Feb. 25. This is a big fundraiser for the school - and it's easy to do. Just clip those box tops from items you already purchased and send them in to your child's teacher. Be sure to check that they are not expired and please trim on the dotted line. THANK YOU! Yearbook ads due Friday Recognition ads for our SVS 2018-2019 yearbooks are now for sale. These personalized ads congratulating the students make your child's yearbook special. All ads must be submitted digitally. Instructions and pricing are available under "Documents" on the school website. The last day to purchase an ad is Friday, March 1. Family Bingo Night Need a mid-week break? Join us for a night of fun and games at Family Bingo Night on Wednesday, February 27 in the school cafeteria. The event is free, but spaghetti dinners will be available for purchase for $5/plate - includes salad, bread, dessert and drink. Doors open at 5:30 and activities begin around 6 pm. Everyone gets a bingo card, but if you want extra to boost your chances of winning one of our cool prizes, you may purchase them for $1/each. Can you help set up/clean up? Email svspto@yahoo.com.
Krewe of Wrecks parade The Krewe of Wrecks parade rolls out on Friday, March 1 at 1:30 p.m. Come check out the float creations of the Kindergarten students as SVS celebrates Mardi Gras. All families are invited to attend. Please note that the school driveway will be closed off at 1 p.m. to prepare for the parade and keep our students safe. Upcoming PTO events Mark your calendars for our annual parent-child events: Formerly known as the Father-Daughter Dance, the SVS PTO will host a "Me and My Special Guy" dance for SVS girls in all grades on the evening of Saturday, March 16. Tickets will be $10/person. Details will be sent home this week. The Mother-Son Kickball Tournament will be held on the afternoon of Sunday, March 31. Cost is $5/family. Details will be sent home soon. If you'd like to volunteer to help with either or both of these events, please email svspto@yahoo.com. We completely rely on our parents to help plan, set up and clean up these events, so please consider giving a little of your time - we are all part of the SVS family! Donations needed for Easter baskets The 6th grade students are collecting gently used and new stuffed toys, books, baskets, grass and individually wrapped candy for the annual Easter Basket service project. Please drop off any donations to the 6th grade pod. Thank you for your support. Support the Prison Project The 6th grade students are collecting travel-sized toiletries to send to inmates as part of the prison service project. Please drop off your donations either at the front office or Mrs. Cox's classroom. Donations will be accepted from now until Easter. Thank you for your support.
Cafeteria News Effective March 1, the price of salads will go up to $3.50, the same as a hot lunch. Students who bring their lunch will not be able to purchase a la carte items, per the National School Lunch Program. As always, due to our participation in the National School Lunch Program, if you or your child bring a lunch please make sure there are no logos on the wrappers. If you have any questions, contact rkoenenn@svdpcatholicschool.org or call the school office. Volunteers needed There are a couple of school events coming up and we need volunteers: Saints Experience on April 3 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Parents are needed to monitor and assist with the activities. Please email Ms. Phyllis at pseal@svdpcatholicschool.org if you can help. Watch for information and permission slips coming home soon. Field Day on April 17. Parents are needed at each activity station. Please email Coach V at avoiron@svdpcatholicschool.org, if you can help Get Scrip, earn tuition Want free tuition? Carnival News Don't miss out on all the fun! It's time for the big carnival events! And remember, these organizations directly support our school so please get involved! SVS Resources Brick Walkway - Are you looking for a way to honor your child or another loved one? Consider purchasing a brick with their name on it to add to the walkway in front of the school. It's truly a memorable gift that will last for years to come! Download the sponsorship form. Fleece Jackets with the SVS crest are now available and can be worn in the classrooms. You can pick up order forms at the front office or download from the school website. Proceeds benefit the enrollment/pr committees. Birthday Book Club is a great way to support our library and remember your child's special day! Feel free to wrap a new book, preferably library bound or hardback, and have your child present their book to the school at Prayer and Pledge on their birthday! A special sticker will be placed in the front of the book to honor your child s donation. Check out a list of suggested titles. Honor a Loved One with the Sanctuary Light. If you would like to have the light in the chapel burn in honor or in memory of a loved one and have them remembered at Prayer & Pledge for the week, please submit his/her name and the date you'd like the light to burn along with a $5 donation to the front office. Rewards Programs - There are lots of ways to support our school with your everyday purchases. Collect Box Tops, Labels or send in empty ink cartridges. You can also help by volunteering to enter codes from Coke Bottle Tops. Pick up a bag from the front office (instructions included) or email svspto@yahoo.com and we will send a bag of bottle caps home with your child next week. Thank you!
