Recent Events Fat/Tuesday Mardi Gras February 28th We had a wonderful time celebrating Fat Tuesday / Mardi Gras. A special lunch was prepared by the Dietary Department. It consisted of homemade gumbo, New Orleans style. Later, all the residents gathered for Jazz music with Jeff Long & Band. Everyone wore beads and masks in the traditional style. Besides the great Jazz music, everyone enjoyed sipping on non-alcoholic hurricanes while listening to the music. Residents Outing: Woodstock Bakery March 10th The residents enjoyed a bus ride to Woodstock Bakery. They got to choose from a variety of cupcakes and pastries. They loved the cake balls most of all. They also enjoyed socializing, taking pictures with the staff and admiring all the great wall art located in the bakery. It was like an exhibit and a tasting all in one! FUNtastic Friday: Crazy Hat Day March 3rd The staff and residents were encouraged to get creative and come up with a crazy hat for FUNtastic Friday. The residents and staff had fun modeling some of their creations. Indoor Picnic Style Lunch March 13th Today was a perfect day for an indoor picnic lunch (it was a cold and rainy day outside)! The residents were encouraged to dress in picnic attire. We all pretended we were going to a picnic, so they dressed in clothing that they would wear for such an outing. Dietary prepared sack lunches for everyone to make it even more special. The dining room was decorated picnic style with plaid tablecloths, napkins and cups. Because no picnic is complete without them, we even had plastic ants on tables! The residents really enjoyed playing along and eating the food. 1 April 2017 Newsletter Regency Retirement Village of Jackson 2
