Caltrain and the Silicon Valley Community Foundation marked another year of safe and successful Holiday Train preparations and operation. The Holiday Train was decorated by a group of volunteers at our 4 th and King yard. Observing all proper protocols, the volunteers were provided a job briefing and safety briefing each work day and then monitored for safe work practices by Caltrain staff. Safety Highlights The Holiday Train s popularity has increased over the years making it necessary to provide additional safety protection for the crowds. Children make up a large portion of the audience and as the train arrives and departs each station, it was important to assist parents in preventing their children from rushing to the train. Barricades were placed to segregate the audience from the characters and provide a safety barrier. Education At Caltrain, safety is one of our core values!
