FDOT Broward County Traffic Report August 31, 2018 through September 7, 2018 FORT LAUDERDALE -- Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of August 31 through September 7, 2018. There is no planned road work on Monday, September 3 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Weather permitting, work will be done at the following locations throughout the county. I-95 from south of Broward Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale I-95 will have three lanes closed in each direction Tuesday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The first two lanes will close at 9 p.m., the third lane at 10 p.m. and the fourth lane at 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m. I-95 in both directions, from south of Davie Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard, will have intermittent shoulder and ramp shoulder closures, as needed, daily and nightly. The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Commercial Boulevard will be closed as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 and Cypress Creek Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 and Commercial Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Please note that consecutive ramps will not be closed at the same time. The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed, nightly, as needed, 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via Commercial Boulevard and Powerline Road. The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Commercial Boulevard will have one inside lane closed daily, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

The I-95 northbound entrance ramps from Sunrise Boulevard will be closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, beginning Sept. 4 through Sept. 13. Traffic will be detoured via Oakland Park Boulevard and I-95. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Description: This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll lanes from north of Commercial Boulevard to south of SW 10 th Street in Broward County. The scope of work includes adding a lane and converting the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes to create two express lanes in each direction. Other work includes: installing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and tolling equipment; widening bridges; and installing noise barrier walls at locations along I-95 northbound between Atlantic Boulevard and Sample Road, and along I-95 southbound north of Sample Road. Contract time for this $154 million project began Friday, January 8, 2016, with design activities currently underway. Construction began Sunday, August 14, 2016. One lane in each direction of Copans Road between North Andrews Avenue and North Dixie Highway will be closed daily, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. One lane in each direction of Cypress Creek Road will be closed daily, 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. McNab Road at I-95 will have two lanes closed in each direction, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday. *Please note that no lane closures are permitted before 12:01 a.m., Tuesday morning, September 4 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. 15 th Street at I-95 will undergo a full closure for bridge construction, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday. *Please note that no lane closures are permitted before 12:01 a.m., Tuesday morning, September 4 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. Eastbound 15 th Street traffic will be detoured south on Andrews Avenue, east on Atlantic Boulevard and north on NW 6 th Avenue. Westbound 15 th Street traffic will be detoured south on NW 6 th Avenue, west on Atlantic Boulevard, and north on Andrews Avenue. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Copans Road at I-95 will undergo a full closure for bridge construction, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Westbound traffic will be detoured via I-95 northbound and Sample Road. Eastbound traffic will be detoured via I-95 southbound and Atlantic Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. *Please note that no lane closures are permitted before 12:01 a.m., Tuesday morning, September 4 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. I-95 Northbound Full Closure Notice: I-95 northbound lanes at Sample Road will be closed to traffic overnight, 11:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Wednesday night, September 5 for new bridge placement. Motorists will be

detoured via the I-95 northbound exit ramp to Sample Road, S. Dixie Highway and SW 10 th Street. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Please see detour flyer attached. I-95 Southbound Full Closure Notice: I-95 southbound lanes at SW 10 th Street will be closed to traffic overnight, 11:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Thursday night, September 6 for new bridge placement. Motorists will be detoured via the I-95 southbound exit ramp to SW 10 th Street, Military Trail, and Sample Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Please see detour flyer attached. Long-term Full Closure Notice: The Park & Ride entrance from the eastbound exit ramp to Cypress Creek Road is closed completely, reopening 5 a.m., Monday morning, September 10. Traffic will be detoured east along Cypress Creek Road to a U-Turn at NE 7 th Ave/Corporate Drive, and then west along Cypress Creek Road to the Park and Ride. Long-term Full Closure Notice: The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from the Cypress Creek Park & Ride Lot is closed completely, reopening 5 a.m., Monday morning, September 10. Traffic will be detoured via West Cypress Creek Road or North Andrews Avenue and I-95. FHP will on site to assist motorists. Description: This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll lanes from north of Commercial Boulevard to south of SW 10 th Street in Broward County. The outside lanes of I-95 southbound from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10 th Street will be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night with the first lane closing at 9 p.m., the second lane closing at 10 p.m. and the third lane, if necessary, closing at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. Two westbound lanes of SW 10 th Street at I-95 will be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The sidewalk on the north side of SW 10 th Street between SW 12 th Avenue and SW Natura Boulevard is closed through September 2018. Signs are in place to direct pedestrians to the south sidewalk. Description: Construction on this 1.5-mile project began Monday, January 26, 2015. Work consists of widening southbound I-95 to add an auxiliary lane from the Hillsboro Boulevard entrance ramp to the SW 10 th Street exit ramp, widening the existing southbound I-95 exit ramp

to SW 10 th Street, addition of a free flow right turn lane to westbound SW 10 th Street, widening of westbound SW 10 th Street to add an acceleration lane, utility relocation, milling and resurfacing, bridge widening, installation of barrier walls, curbs, sidewalks, guardrail, drainage, overhead signs, signing and pavement markings, signals, lighting, and retaining walls. This is the first of five interchange improvement projects throughout Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Completion in summer 2018. 4. I-95 from south of SW 10 th Street to south of Glades Road (95 Express Phase 3B-1) Traffic Impacts: I-95 will have three lanes closed in each direction nightly, as needed, between Hillsboro Boulevard and Palmetto Park Road, with the first lane closing at 9:30 p.m., the second lane closing at 10:30 p.m., and the third lane closing at 11:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday. Camino Real between SW 15 th Avenue and SW 19 th Avenue has one outside lane closed in each direction through December 14. Description: This 4.8-mile project will extend the High Occupancy Toll lanes from south of SW 10 th Street to south of Glades Road in Broward and Palm Beach counties. The scope of work includes widening and converting the existing I-95 HOV Lanes to Managed Lanes which will result in two tolled Express Lanes in each direction; the number of General Use lanes will remain the same. Other activities include reconstruction of I-95 on the northbound and southbound approaches to the Hillsboro Canal bridges, milling and resurfacing of I-95, construction of northbound and southbound auxiliary lanes between Hillsboro Boulevard and Palmetto Park Road, and construction of a northbound auxiliary lane between the SW 10 th Street entrance ramp and the Hillsboro Boulevard exit ramp. Other project improvements include: guardrail, barrier wall, attenuators, shoulder gutters, drainage, dredging of Hillsboro Canal, bridge widenings at Palmetto Park Road and Camino Real, bridge replacement at Hillsboro Canal, temporary and permanent retaining walls, noise wall construction, sign structures, portable traffic monitoring sites, toll gantry installation, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) installation, signing and pavement markings; Express Lane markers, lighting, ramp metering signals, utility relocation, and landscape relocation. Contract time for this $102 million project began Monday, July 10, 2017, with design and construction activities currently underway. Work is being performed by Prince Contracting, LLC and is expected to be completed spring 2022. Interstate 75 5. Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Snake Creek Canal will be closed nightly Sunday, September 2 through Thursday, September 6 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. One northbound lane of I-75 from Snake Creek Canal to Florida s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, September 2 through Thursday, September 6 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Snake Creek Canal to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly Sunday, September 2 through Thursday, September 6 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One northbound and one southbound ramp lane of Florida s Turnpike from Okeechobee Road to I-75 Interchange will be closed Sunday, September 2 through Thursday, September 6 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane in each direction of Florida s Turnpike from Red Road to the I-75 Interchange may be closed Sunday, September 2 through Thursday, September 6 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane in each direction of Florida s Turnpike from I-75 Interchange to Okeechobee Road may be closed Sunday, September 2 through Thursday, September 6 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One southbound lane of I-75 from Florida s Turnpike to NW 170 Street will be closed Sunday, September 2 through Thursday, September 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to NW 170 Street will be closed nightly Sunday, September 2 through Thursday, September 6 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to Florida s Turnpike onramp will be closed Sunday, September 2 through Thursday, September 6 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Florida s Turnpike to Miramar Parkway will be closed Sunday, September 2 through Thursday, September 6 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Florida s Turnpike to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly Sunday, September 2 through Thursday, September 6 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two northbound lanes of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Florida s Turnpike will be closed Sunday, September 2 through Thursday, September 6 from 8 p.m. to 4 p.m. The southbound lanes of Florida s Turnpike between Red Road and Snake Creek Canal closure will continue 11 p.m. Wednesday, September 5 until 6 a.m. Thursday, September 6 and 11 p.m. Thursday, September 6 until 6 a.m. Friday, September 7. During this closure, southbound Florida s Turnpike motorists wishing to continue south will be detoured to exit at Red Road (Exit 43), travel north on Red Road to Miramar Parkway, west on Miramar Parkway to I-75, then south on I-75 to take the exit ramp to Florida s Turnpike (Exit 5). In the event of inclement weather or other unexpected conditions this work will be rescheduled. I-595 Express One right lane on Eastbound I-595 over Nob Hill Road will be closed from 10:00pm to 4:00am on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 for Bridge 860360 Joint Repair. Ram Closure SB US-1 to WB I-595 : 10:00pm 5:00am, Thursday, Sept. 6 with detour route to Griffin to I-95 for joint repairs. Northeast Broward

6. Broward Boulevard Improvements and Bridge Replacement Project in Fort Lauderdale Up to two lanes in each direction of Broward Boulevard from US 1 to NW 18 Avenue (500 feet maximum at a time) will be closed between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for sidewalk construction and street light pole installation. No work will be performed Saturday, September 1 through Monday, September 3 in observance of Labor Day. Description: Project improvements include replacing the bridge over the North Fork of the New River, removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, upgrading crosswalk ramps to meet ADA requirements, upgrading signs and pavement markings, relocating bus shelters, adding roadway lighting, installing drainage structures, upgrading signalized intersections to mast arms, reconstructing sidewalks, and widening roadway to add bike lanes in each direction. Broward Mobility Project One lane in each direction of NW 31 Avenue from Broward Boulevard to Sunrise Boulevard will be closed Tuesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for installation of signs and application of pavement markings. One lane in each direction of SW 4 Avenue from SW 28 Street to SR 84 will be closed Tuesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the installation of signs and application of pavement markings. Description: The improvements under this contract include constructing sidewalks, multi-use pedestrian paths, and bicycle lanes along 45 roadways in Broward County within Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Plantation, Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Lauderhill, Oakland Park, Lauderdale Lakes, and Fort Lauderdale. A1A Landscaping Improvements Project from Oakland Park Boulevard to Flamingo Avenue in Fort Lauderdale One lane in each direction of A1A from Oakland Park Boulevard to NE 40 Street will be closed Tuesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for landscaping and irrigation installation. Description: Project improvements include installing a new irrigation system in the median and along both sides of the road and installing plants in the median and along both sides of the road, including various species of palms, shade trees and shrubs. Hollywood Boulevard Complete Streets Project in Hollywood from east of City Hall Circle to Dixie Highway Eastbound and Westbound traffic has been shifted slightly south to accommodate the work on the north side of the road through May 2019. One lane will be maintained in each direction. 24 Avenue south of Hollywood Blvd is closed continuously for roadway reconstruction through September. Motorists traveling southbound will be detoured to Taylor Street, North Dixie Highway, and Monroe Street. Motorists traveling northbound A portion of the left turn lane from westbound Hollywood Boulevard to southbound Dixie Highway will be continuously closed beginning Thursday, May 10 7 a.m. at through September for underground drilling to install a new water main underneath Dixie Highway. Left turns will be permitted from the remaining portion of the turn lane. Detour signs will direct motorist to Surf Road while side street access from A1A is restricted for approximately 1 to 2 days. This schedule is tentative and may change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions. The contractor

Two lanes in each direction of SR 7 from Pembroke Road to Fillmore Street will be closed overnight Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for sewer improvements through September. Northbound traffic on SR 7 from Mayo Street to Washington Street will be shifted slightly west for sewer improvements beginning Thursday, June 21 at 9 p.m. through September.
