Pocahontas County 4-H Swine Challenge Application The swine challenge program started eight years ago. Our main goal was to introduce children to the swine project area and encourage 4-H ers to eventually have a swine project of their own. We realize that it is not possible for some 4-H ers to ever have pigs of their own and we encourage that those 4-H ers continue in the Swine Challenge program! Over the past couple of years, our numbers in this program have gotten quite large WHICH IS A GOOD THING! Please consider this when choosing to participate in the pork challenge or choosing to have your own project. The complete class rules are on the back of this application. To participate in the Pork Challenge this year you MUST fill out the below application and return it to the ISU Extension and Outreach Pocahontas County office no later than March 1, 2019. NO LATE APPLICATIONS ARE ACCEPTED! Name Grade I live in a town I live on an acreage, without any facilities to raise 4-H pigs I live on an acreage with suitable facilities to raise 4-H pigs In a few short sentences, please state why you choose the swine challenge over owning your own project pigs.
