Coming up soon is Skate City, which is always a popular event for the entire family. Soon after that will be Jogging 4 Janssen, Bingo Night, Read-a-Thon and Badger Sports Park Night. As the new year embarks upon us, the PTO would like to thank all of you that have helped out in anyway so far this year. We also welcome any other help that others can provide too. Upcoming Things to Know Monthly Meeting Did you want to know more about our music department and classes at Janssen? Now is the time to find out, as Mr. Meehl will be at the January meeting on Monday, January 16. At the same time, you can find out what is all going on with the PTO and become more involved in the action behind the scenes. The meeting will begin at 6 pm in the library. Childcare is provided. Skate City Night Janssen Night at Skate City is right around the corner so make sure to mark your calendar and plan to attend on Thursday, January 12 from 6 to 8:30 pm. There is no reservation needed. You can just show up anytime that evening and pay $5 per person to skate the night away. Parents and family are welcome to join in the activity! Craft-O-Rama If you haven t had time to finish or even start that latest craft or scrapbooking project, you can get it done on Friday January 20 and/or Saturday, January 21. Sign up to attend Craft-O-Rama and see what you can all accomplish without any interruption by your spouse or kids! Have your family and friends also sign up so you can attend together. All craft supplies that you need will need to be brought by you! The event will go on Friday from 5 pm to 11 pm and Saturday 9 am to 10 pm in the school gym. Others outside of the Janssen school are invited to attend. They will just need to fill out a registration form too. The cost of the event is as follows: Friday Only $15 per person Both Friday and Saturday $40 per person Saturday Only - $30 per person The registration form will be in the weekly school take home papers. You need to register by Monday, January 16, and checks should be made payable to Janssen PTO. Jogging 4 Janssen Do your kids want to run the hallways of the school but have never had that opportunity? Do you think they will need to burn off some energy after a winter of being cooped up inside? If so, make sure to be on the lookout for the registration forms for this year s Jogging 4 Janssen event on Saturday, March 4 in the morning timeframe. Stay in Touch with the PTO! The event is for the entire family. There will be obstacle courses throughout the school. You can race against your family and friends or just enjoy accomplishing the activities together. Bingo Night The 19 th annual Janssen Bingo Night is just a few months away. The festivities will be on Friday, March 10. Let all of your family know about this event, as it is great fun for all. Registration forms will be available soon for the dinner portion of the event. There will be no reservation needed to attend the bingo portion of the event. More details will be sent out soon. Miscellaneous Items 4 th Grade Celebration Parent Volunteers Wanted Calling all 4 th grade parents!!! The PTO is looking for parents that are willing to help plan the 4 th grade celebration this year on Tuesday, June 6. The event does take place during school hours. It is a celebration of all the 4 th graders have accomplished while at Janssen and best wishes as they embark on their new adventures to intermediate school. If interested in helping out, please email janssenpto@gmail.com. 2017-2018 PTO Board Members We Want You!! It is that time of year to start thinking about the PTO board for next school year. There will be 3 open positions for next year. Please consider stepping in and helping out so the PTO continues to flourish and help out the school and the children in many different ways. A President-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer are needed. If you want to know more about any of the positions, please email janssenpto@gmail.com or contact one of the current board members. Remember the positions can be co-chaired too. So grab your neighbor or friend to join in the fun!
