When sending our shooting activities to the H&N I try to do it on Friday a week before the shoot. If there are cancellations or modifications to the announcement please have them to me before that Friday as it will stand a better chance of getting published before the match. Photos are always welcome and as President Jim Monroe requested last winter they would show some of the diverse weather conditions where we conduct our matches. I must admit though, that there hasn t been much change in background scenery this past winter save for maybe a few bare trees. Work is being done to cut up and clear logs so intermediate berms can be positioned on the multipurpose range. It has also been determined that the black PRS bales will not be replaced by white bales as there is a problem with deterioration of the white ones. The black bales have been banded to increase longevity of the packed material. * The JSSA youth shooters will be hosting a fund raiser on September 5 at the fairgrounds exhibit hall # 2. Youth art will be for sale and the menu is tri tips of beef or chicken and doors open at 4:30pm with dinner at 5. Raffle items will include a Rogue River trip and a rifle, other donated items are welcome. Beer and wine by Mia s and Pia s will be available. Cost of dinner is $35 for adults with youth under17 for $25.Please contact Katie Feinauer at 541-892-0958 for reservations, donations and other information. Our shooting range utilization for last year at the park was documented as: All ranges 8993 Sporting clays 506 600yd range 2067 200yd range 3531 Pistol range 2889 Sporting clays showed an increase of 43 shooters while the 600 yd range gained 527 over the 2014 numbers. The pistol range documented an increase of 320 while the 200yd range showed the greatest gain of users at 1117over last years figures. Overall total park attendance was 12,264 for the year as revealed from the sign in registers at the entry kiosk. We rely on this documentation when applying for grant funding so please make sure your attendance has been recorded when ever you go to the park and the activity you participated in. ** Fire season is upon us and we must see to it that the public obeys all park rules and fire restrictions. We all know of the prohibitions on tracers and steel tipped ammo but the public must be continually reminded of this along with proper gun handling and safety requirements.

Rape from pg 1. The attitude in Britain is you will violate the thug s rights if you injure him in any way when he attacks you. British subjects are not permitted pepper spray or any self defense product that might cause injury to someone who is attacking them. A police hot line has been established for the citizenry so they can call the police to see if whatever defensive measures one might take will pass legal muster in the courts. It has been found that if a person uses a dye marker to I.D. the crook it may get into his eyes and cause injury. To my mind if some dirt bag is attacking me or a family member he has just given his a** to God! From pg 1 Lever gun Approximately 15 shooters braved the gorgeous sunshiny day on the Wickline range to try and knock down silhouette targets. According to Erick there was a 93 year old competitor that really was in the competition as he placed within the top shooters in the match. One shooter came all the way from Salem and placed in the middle of the pack. From the enthusiastic reports this match may become a regular feature and welcome addition to our organized shooting activity calendar. USPSA NATIONALS According to Roger, sunny frost free Florida will be the site of the USPSA Nationals in October. Roger says we have two slots we can fill: one for open, limited 10 and one for Limited. Limited match, October 3-6. Open and Limited 10 match October 7-10. Please contact Roger Schmidt at schmidtroger@charter.net if you are interested. IDPA IDPA on Sunday the 28th drew 9 shooters to engage an assortment of target scenarios only Jon could come up with. Bad guys, mean dogs and exploding water bottles were the target arrays this time. Next month Jon will no doubt have more and diverse situations for us to contend with. Top shooter was Steve Hall shooting his CDP.40 and Scott Anderson came in second shooting SSP. Third was Tom Chandler also in SSP. Places are for the overall match with Steve and Scott winning their classes. 4
