Oct. 29: Bring Your Pumpkins in for the CARVING CONTEST Theme: Looney Tunes Pumpkins are needed for each classroom so students may carve them for the Fall Festival Contest. Classes are to designate students to bring pumpkins and carving kits into the classroom no later than this Monday, October 29. Each class will submit a carved, decorated pumpkin. One pumpkin will be declared a winner based on amount of money collected. To vote for a pumpkin, place dollar bills in the receptacle next to it. Funds will be donated to Good Samaritan Assistance Ministry to help struggling families pay bills during the holiday season. Please do not allow students to bring knives as only carving kits are allowed. Pumpkins must be carved and in the gym by 9:00 the morning of the festival. Fall Festival- October 31 Come celebrate All Hallow s Eve with us on October 31 st at 1:00 pm. Our high school students have been working hard to get their booths ready for the children and their parents. It should be tons of fun! Please come join in on the fun for all families are welcome! Chaperones are Mr. Greaney and Mrs. Lozano Pick-up lane in the Parking Lot Parents, thanks for your efforts to keep the parking lot running smoothly. There have been enormous improvements in wait times over past years! We want to remind everyone that things are going better because of the new system. PLEASE STICK WITH IT!!!! If you come into the school, you need to park in one of the regular parking spaces. Do not leave your vehicle in the pick-up lane! Also, please pull ahead to the end of the pick-up lane so more cars are able to enter the parking lot. Children are not to exit their vehicles until they reach the end of the pickup lane. Children must exit on the passenger side of the vehicle. For safety, they need to use the sidewalk and may not cross the open parking lot unless accompanied by an adult.

Carroll College Game Concessions Our school has the opportunity to raise funds at Carroll College home football games for student activities and sports. We are in charge of two concessions: Bodacious Burgers and All American. We are in need of parents and 7-12 th grade parents to work the booths. Games are on Saturday and typically workers must be at the booth from 10:30-2:00 or 3:00 pm. Sign-up sheets are in the high school wing or you may call the school office to volunteer. Procurement cards are ready for pick up in the school office: This is a huge job and is crucial to the auction. Everyone needs to help out! If each family can take 5 cards, this would be done quickly. Come soon to get your choice of cards. Call Deidre Teodosio at the school office for details or see below: Remember to check the book before contacting a business or individual about a donation. When picking up a card always write your name in the book as indicated. Then take the card with you. It is very embarrassing to contact someone requesting a donation when someone else has already been to visit, but did not mark the card out in the book. If you are unable to get to the school to check out the cards, please contact the secretary and ask her to check certain cards out in your name and hold them. Stay on the line to make sure those cards are not already checked out. Cards should be picked up within the week or they will be returned to the box. Be sure to take these items with you when procuring: procurement card, procurement letter, calendar & pencil/pen. Make notes on the card, including contact dates/times, pick-up date/time (if you are not given the item immediately), value of the donation, point of contact, donor's mailing address, phone number and item(s) or service(s) being donated. This information is important for crediting the donor correctly and sending them a thank you card for their generosity. Do not be discouraged if you have to call back several times and get passed to various people. They are busy people, too. Sample Call Script: Hello, my name is. I am calling on behalf of St. Andrew School. (Thank you for your generous donation last year). We are holding our annual Emerald Isle Auction on February 24th, 2018. Would you be willing to donate an item or gift certificate or make a donation to our school?... Thank you for your support! If you cannot procure items, but can pick them up once they are ready, please call Jenne Caudle 202-2391

WHY WE SUPPORT ST ANDREW SCHOOL The school is working on new promotional materials for incoming families and possible donors. We need input from our families for this project. By sharing your personal connections, you have the power to encourage others to support the school s mission which is close to your heart. Please consider answering any or all of these questions and handing this in to the office. How did you first hear about the St. Andrew School? What made you decide to send your children? How has your family been personally affected by the school s mission? Why do you continue to support the school? What s your favorite thing about St. Andrew? What s one thing you wish others knew about the school?
