2 11 Marshall County Clover Chatter-August/September Reflections.......... the past year, we have seen and undergone many changes. This was the second year for 4Honline as well as Fair Entry. Superintendents, screened volunteers, leaders and 4-H members have come and gone. There were tears of joy as well as tears of sorrow and at times frustration. But through it all, there were many accomplishments throughout the 4-H program. Educational opportunities were provided by leaders as well as opportunities gained through state and national workshops and trips. Nine classrooms received the 4-H in the classroom curriculum, an opportunity to help families new to the program to return in the coming years. Twenty three campers and eleven camp counselors attended 4-H camp. Three youth attended the Citizenship Washington Focus trip, seven attended 4-H Round-Up, eleven youth participated in the 4-H Achiever Contest, and seven received the Indiana 4-H Foundation Scholarship. Over the past ten years we have averaged at least 45 ten year members which speaks highly of the dedication and sense of traditional values of our 4-H families and volunteers. This is just a small part of what 4-H is about. While the fair is the culmination of the 4-H year and of course important, it is what happens all year long with educational, fun, and team and leadership building opportunities that our youth are able to experience. With that said, I personally send my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to each and every one of you that work together to help to make the 4-H program a continued success.
