North Country Circuit 5 & Under Junior Horse Futurity 2018 Futurity Go Rounds will be: The Junior Horse class(es) at all NCC shows. In the event that a Show has separate Junior Horse classes for English and Western, an exhibitor may show their Futurity horse in both classes but will only collect points in one class. (i.e. The placing garnering the highest number of points will count.) NOTE: The Futurity requires a minimum of 3 participants to be held. Objectives: To provide an opportunity to showcase the breeding and training of the quiet, well mannered, responsive horse of all breeds. Horse Eligibility: Horses of any breed registered and unregistered that are born in 2013 or later are eligible. (5 years and under). A Photo-copy of the front and back of the horse s registration papers, on registered horse(s) must accompany the nomination. A veterinarian s affidavit of year of birth and complete description of the unregistered horse(s) must accompany the nomination. Entries will be accepted throughout the year; however, points will not start accumulating until futurity payment has been received in full. The North Country Circuit (NCC) committee reserves the right to reject any entry. All decisions of the committee are final. The NCC committee reserves the right to cancel, transfer or reschedule the futurity without liability. Entrants will be given as much notice as possible. In the event of a cancellation, all fees will be refunded. At any point in time, a futurity nominated horse that has lost eligibility may be reinstated in the futurity by paying all the applicable fees, late fees and a penalty fee. Rider/Handler Eligibility: Any person who is a member of the NCC is eligible to ride regardless of age or professional status. If a change of rider is required, request for the change should be made to the Futurity Committee for approval no less than 72 hours before the class is held. If any owner wishes to enter more than one animal, designated riders must be provided. Nomination fees: The total nomination fee for each entry is $60.00. Payment must be received in full before horse/rider combination can start accumulating points. All entry fee money will go towards the purse. Depending on sponsorship, there may be some added money. A service charge of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) will be required for all returned cheques. Failure to pay this service charge and make the cheque good within 30 days of notification will result in disqualification of the nominations and re-nominations by certified cheque. NCC Registration Requirements: Each owner and rider must be currently registered in North Country Circuit. Circuit registration dues must be paid in full on or before the date the futurity payment. Sale of Nominated Horse: Futurity participation is transferable with change of ownership. Notice to the Futurity Committee of change of ownership and maintenance of active participation in the futurity becomes the responsibility of the new owner. New owner must be registered with NCC. The NCC Futurity will not be responsible for any disputes arising through change of ownership.
North Country Circuit 5 & Under Junior Horse Futurity Judging Specifications: The Futurity entries will be judged on performance, quality of gait, attitude and manners. The placings from the Junior Horse class at each of the circuit shows will be used for final tabulations. Points will be based on a sliding scale. The number of points allocated will be determined on the number of horses shown in the class. See point structure below. Western horse must be shown in a western saddle and a bosal (hackamore), a snaffle bit or any legal leverage bit. English horse must be shown in english saddle and snaffle bit. Horses shown in a leverage bit must be shown with one hand. All others are to be shown with two hands. No training equipment will be allowed such as but not limited to nose bands, running or standing martingales, support boots, tie downs etc. Dress Requirements: Riders must show in a helmet or western hat and the appropriate dress for the discipline. Payout: The total entry fee, plus any added money will be paid out as follows: Place 7 Plus Horses 4 to 6 Horses 3 horses 2 Horses 1 Horse 1st 30% 40% 50% 60% 100% 2nd 24% 30% 30% 40% 3rd 18% 20% 20% 4th 13% 10% 5th 9% 6th 6% Prize monies will be awarded only to the owner(s) as shown on the entry application. In the event of a tie, the monies allocated for that and the subsequent or s will be divided equally. Owners will flip a coin for the ribbons and any other awards if applicable. Example: in a class of 10 horses where there is a tie for 2 nd the monies for 2 nd & 3 rd (24% + 18%) will be shared equally with each party receiving 12% + 9% = 21%. The next entrant will be awarded 4 th and receive 13% Added Money - The Futurity Committee is endeavoring to secure some sponsorship for the Junior Horse Futurity. Any sponsorship will go directly to the payout of the futurity as added money or prizes. Grievance Procedures: Protests or grievances must be made in writing within 72 hours of the show and accompanied by a $50.00 non refundable fee. Rules and Regulations: Entrants will be responsible for themselves and their horses. In the case that any entrant be disqualified, the runner up will receive the money and awards, if applicable. Inhumane treatment of horses will not be tolerated- in the arena, stabling area, or on the grounds- and will result in disqualification. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein contained, it is understood that each entrant, by act of entry, waives claims against the North Country Circuit, show committee or organizing body, or any of their members, officers, etc., for any injury, loss or damage which may result in any way of the organization, operations or activities of the futurity. Any helpers or employees of any entrant shall be the sole responsibility of that entrant.
