The gate code will be changed on August 1 st. The new code is in the email message containing this newsletter Please note that this is for the use of Heatherdale Club members only not to be shared with friends. COMMUNICATION WITH CLUB MEMBERS The committee would welcome suggestions as to the best way they communicate with members. As postage has increased, mailing has become quite expensive. Using emailed newsletters seems to be the next best thing, keeping in mind that a minority of members do not have internet access. We urge all members to register their email address with the Membership Secretary at mish@iprimus.com.au. if you have not already done so. The Bulletins are always listed on the HTC website sometimes an email has been sent to members informing them that they can access the latest Bulletin by logging on to www.heatherdaletc.org.au and sometimes they have been emailed individually. If the internet isn t an option we can keep a list of street addresses if notified that this is your choice. Of course, copies of the Bulletins are always posted on the clubroom notice board. Suggestions and comments to any of the committee members listed above appreciated. Did you know that HTC has a Facebook Page? Take the opportunity to click on Like! A NEW EVENT ON THE HTC SOCIAL CALENDAR On Friday, October 13 th commencing at 7 p.m., we are planning an evening of social tennis for adults which will be open to not only HTC members but the general community so bring along your friends to join in the fun and watch the notice boards for further details. MAINTENANCE Now that all courts are in excellent playing condition, in order to keep them this way as long as possible, PLEASE sweep courts from side to side after sets 1 & 3 and from baseline to baseline (passing under nets) after sets 3 & 4 etc. Also, hang up drag mats after use as they could be a tripping hazard. TENNIS NETS FOR SALE Are you in need of a net or know of somebody who may be? As new nets were provided with the re-done courts, the Club has 6 nets for sale at $90.00 each. The centre straps are attached but not the ground hooks. Contact Jos Wolfkamp on 0408 998 575 WORKING BEE SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 17 TH 10 a.m start -

Strength and Conditioning Coach: Michael Rodda Email: Lifestylestrength@bigpond.com Mob: 0438 632 181 Juniors and seniors speed and agility courses, sport specific training, injury prevention/injury recovery training, individual and group sessions. Strength and Conditioning Term 2 Report This term we had several beginner and intermediate speed and agility groups operating in the afternoons. The children and some parents have been involved with activities that improve running technique, agility movements, reaction training and general fitness. At the end of term, we ran a range of assessments and all groups have shown improvement in speed and agility across the term. The most important thing is that they are all having fun. We have also been involved with training several adults and groups of adults who are now returning to tennis. These are more custom-built sessions to suit the individual goals of fitness and injury prevention with the intention of getting back to tennis. We even have some families now training so that the parents can join seniors teams with their children. We should see one or two of these this Summer season.
