Volume 51 Issue 3 Oct 2016 SNOWSEEKERS.ORG Hello Snowseekers, President It has been a busy month with activities. Sept. 11th we went to "Looney Tunes" with the Milwaukee Orchestra and had a beautiful evening of classical music to the original cartoons. What clever people to score these cartoons with all versions of classical music. Next five of us volunteered for seed collection on Saturday, Sept. 24th at Rollins Savannah Preserve. Please see the pictures below. Now we have several activities for October: Oct. 2nd Lake Forest Civic Orchestra, Gorton Center concert 2:30 p.m. Oct. 5th Bike ride from Skokie Lagoon, into Botanical Gardens, Lunch, and returning through the Skokie Lagoon. Meeting at 11:00 A.M. Oct. 9th Snowseekers Board meeting at Al and Jan's House 4:00 p.m. Oct. 11th Snowseekers Meeting, 6:00 p.m. food with 7:00 meeting, Dave Sallmann will present his barge European trip. Oct. 12th, Golf outing at Village Green in Mundelein, 9:00 A.M. Call Al Billings 847-223-9379 for details and attendance. We have multiple other outings planned and please refer to our Social Chair column by Evelyn Adams. Looking forward to a very social year with lots of great skiing. See you at these outings. Janet Billings, Snowseekers President 1

Ski Master Summer is over, fall has arrived and with it anticipation of the coming ski season. The new equipment is out for this year. So go through your equipment and if you need an upgrade from goggles to skis now is the time. Getting into your ski shop early ensures that your size and model is in stock, as the most popular equipment can sell out. Keep working on your fitness goals as they pay dividends when you are on the mountain. There s some pride in going bell to bell. Wilmot is continuing its transformation, putting in new lifts, remodeling the lodge and installing a new snow making system. This should raise the bar immensely for the guest experience at Wilmot. On an industry note Vail resorts has now bought Whistler Blackcomb ski resort in Canada. If you ever wanted to own a piece of a ski resort, Red Mountain in Canada is offering investment for as little as a $1,000.00. They re trying to keep the corporate culture from taking over their ski resort and asking skiers to invest in them. Ross CMSC Announcement CMSC is ready for the racing season. You can access online registration via the CMSC Racing website (http://www.skicmsc-racing.com). You will see "Register Now" link right on the front page or you can go to the registration pull down menu and click "OnLine Registration". The process should be self-explanatory.
