RED EARTH FESTIVAL When: Friday, June 5 - Sunday, June 7 Where: Cox Convention Center Address: One Myriad Gardens, Oklahoma City, OK 73102 The 29th Annual Red Earth Native American Cultural Festival is scheduled June 5-7, 2015 at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City. The award winning festival features American Indian artists and dancers from through North America who celebrate the richness and diversity of their heritage with the world. This June Oklahoma City will be the center of Native American art and culture in America. Through the years, Red Earth has matured into one of the most respected visual and performing arts event of its type setting the standard for many of today s Indian art shows held throughout the nation. At Red Earth, guests can sample the work of some of the nation s most celebrated artists, with opportunities to purchase contemporary and traditional examples of beadwork, basketry, jewelry, pottery, sculpture, paintings, graphics and cultural attire during the juried art show and market. The Red Earth Fancy Dance Competition will feature the elite of Native American dance in Men's Fancy War Dance and Ladies Fancy Shawl. The masters, each exhibit their originality and skills in one of the most prestigious of all native dance competitions. A grand parade, unlike any other parade in the world, opens the Red Earth Festival in downtown Oklahoma City. The streets of downtown Oklahoma City will vibrate in Native American tribal spirit as tribal representatives, in full regalia, make the Red Earth Parade one of America s most unique. SUMMER ON THE PLAZA When: Thursday nights, from May 21 June 25 Where: Student Union Plaza, between Student Union and Classroom Building Every Thursday night from May 21 through June 25, the Student Union will host its annual Summer on the Plaza series and open its doors to the Stillwater community as well as to OSU students, faculty and staff. There will be everything from prizes from local businesses such as Academy Sports and Stillwater YMCA, live music, water activities and free movies to extended shopping and dining hours with lots of family-friendly fun for everyone to enjoy. NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2015 SEMESTER Fall semester is the time when most international students arrive to campus. The ISS Office becomes very busy as we meet the new students, as well as welcome back the students returning from summer break. Fall 2015 New Student Registration will take place during the first week of August and the ISS Office and counselors will be very, very busy! If you want to apply for OPT, talk about your final semester, or need to meet with a counselor for any reason, we strongly recommend that you either 1) make an appointment several days in advance or 2) come to the ISS Office after new student registration is over. Otherwise, you could wait for a long time before we are able to help you. We don t want you to wait any longer than you have to! 8
