IOLO S WELSH SEA Sunday, March 2, BBC One Wales, 5.35pm In the third episode of Iolo s Welsh Sea, Iolo Williams travels to Ceredigion in west Wales, which has the highest population of dolphins in Europe. He hears how the local council s marine code of practice is trying to balance the tourism industry with protecting the wildlife that s attracting visitors to the area. With the recent flooding hitting the headlines, Iolo discovers that it s not a new phenomenon. At Cwm yr Eglwys on the north Pembrokeshire coast, a church has stood in one form or another since Norman times. But in 1833, the sea defence wall was breached and two fields and the cemetery disappeared. Iolo dives to see what remains hidden beneath the waves. And Iolo meets a team from Bangor, Aberystwyth and Swansea universities, who are part of a new energy project to harness the sea s power between Ramsay Island and the Pembrokeshire coast - the location of the one of the biggest tidal flows in the UK.
