Junior riders must be accompanied throughout the ride by an adult sponsor (18 or older). ALL dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. There are no electrical sites available. We are trying to arrange for a water slide for the kids and adults, but if we don t, beautiful fresh water Lake Cassidy is about a ½ mile away, so bring your bathing suits! If you plan on arriving earlier than Friday, September 1, please call Kim at 850-259-2648 to confirm availability. Each horse owner, trainer and/or rider is responsible for safe camping and restraint of their horses. Maximum of two horses per pen. Due to vaccination requirements, there will be a designated area for FEI parking (following signs upon entry to camp). All others can park in open areas. Someone will be available to assist you upon entry to camp. Remember to be considerate of your neighbors when running your generator (5 a.m. 11 p.m.), parking and setting up pens for horses, dogs and kids. Spread manure and hay, fill holes made by horses/dogs and take your trash with you. MOTELS: Several motels are located in DeFuniak Springs, Holiday Inn Express, Best Western Crossroads Inn and Econo Lodge

Photographer: Jessica Jones with Unbridled Imagery will be the ride photographer. Pictures will be available at the end of each ride day. FARRIER: Dennis Owens will be the ride farrier and will be on premises from Friday through Sunday (until completion of ride). To make an appointment in advance, call 850-624-9725 VET CHECKS: All vet checks are in camp. We suggest that you bring cover for shade for your horses at the trailer as well as the vet check area. TRAILS: Most if not all of the trails will be on dirt roads. We re trying to route these so you will have as much shade as possible but obviously it s summer in Florida and you will have stretches of sunshine (wear sunscreen). The dirt roads have some wooden bridges and sections of gravel rock, so if your horse is sensitive to rock we suggest you ride with shoes or wear protective boots. There will be spotters for all paved road crossings and throughout the trail, however, riders are responsible for following trail and for yielding to traffic. There will be water for the horses about every 4 miles and food available for the horses at different stops. We ll also have cold water for the riders at different locations on trails throughout the ride. AWARDS: Completion awards will be given to everyone who completes the course. Top 10, Best Condition and Turtle awards will be given for the LD, 50 and 75 mile ride each day. If you have to leave early, please make arrangements for someone to pickup your award. Awards will NOT be mailed. FOOD: Since this is a no frills ride, no food is provided by ride management. Restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, motes etc are within 12-15 miles of ride camp. FEES: AERC 25/30/50 Miles - $90. AERC 75 Miles - $130. CEI 1*/80 km -$235. CEI 2*/120 km - $335. Juniors ride AERC for ½ price! (A Junior is a rider 15 years or younger as of December 1, 2016). Young Riders must pay full entry fee and will compete in a separate Young Rider division, not the junior division. All riders that are not AERC members will be required to pay a $15 non-membership fee each day (be prepared to show your AERC card at registration or send a copy with your entry form). Each rig (truck/trailer, camper, truck/tent, combo etc) will be required to pay a $15 camping for use of the facilities. ALL entries should be submitted online at http://rideentry.org/rockingroll/, then print and mail waivers, entry form and payment to Kim Williams, 1242 Double Pond Rd, Ponce De Leon, FL 32455. FEI DEFINITE ENTRY DEADLINE is by 3 pm August 24, 2017.. ANY CHECKS THAT ARE RETURNED FOR INSUFFICIENT FUNDS AND NOT HONORED WITHIN TWO WEEKS FROM THE DATE OF THE RIDE WILL BE TURNED OVER TO THE STATE FOR PROSECUTION, AS WELL AS ANY FURTHER ACTION THAT CAN BE TAKEN THROUGH AERC AND FEI. IN ADDITION, THERE WILL BE A SURCHARGE OF $100 FOR OUR INCONVENIENCE. Cancellations: Once you vet in, there are no refunds if you choose not to ride. Refunds for cancelations received after August 24 will be made at ride management s discretion. If you do not vet in successfully, you will be given a refund, minus a $25 non-refundable portion of your entry PLUS THE CAMPING FEE. No-shows/no-calls and withdrawals or pulls after crossing the start line will not receive any refunds. If an FEI horse does not successfully vet in, an office fee of $100 plus the USEF IHP & Drug fees AND CAMPING FEE must be paid prior to any refund being given. All cancellations must be made directly to ride management. Extras: ICE; We are trying to get an ice truck to come to ride camp so that you can purchase bagged ice from them during the ride. If you will want a large quantity of ice bags to use during the ride and throughout the weekend please note this on your entry form..

ADDITIONAL FEI INFORMATION: For US riders and horses, requirements for FEI 2*/120 KM entry and FEI 1*/80 KM entry are USEF membership for rider and owner, USEF equine registration lifetime -- note, if passports are required, even if national passport, USEF lifetime registration), USEF high performance fee (already in entry fees), and FEI annual registration for rider and equine, and horse national (e.g, USEF-issued national) or FEI Passport. Note: FEI horses crossing international borders must have FEI passports, even for 1* and 2* events. Please ensure the equine's name is consistent on all documentation (e.g., Coggins vs Passport vs entry vs FEI registration...). Important New FEI Rule for 2017: for 2017 ALL NEWLY FEI REGISTERED HORSES MUST HAVE A PASSPORT which in 1* and 2* events may be a National Passport. Previously registered (that is through 2016) horses may compete 1* and 2* without passports. If the horse is doing 1* and 2* domestic events without a passport, breed registration papers MUST be presented. If no breed registration papers are available, a passport must be used. Important USEF Rule starting 2016: all FEI horses entering the grounds of a USEF-licensed competition must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. GR 845 is the relevant USEF General Regulation. This applies just to FEI horses in this competition or horses camped in the FEI area. Athletes should be prepared with proof of the Rhino vaccination -- ideally within a passport, where the flu vaccination frequently also has rhino in it, so a full identification of the vaccine used may suffice. Or separate declaration from the administering veterinarian that the vaccination has been given. Note: as of 2013, all new FEI equine registrations must have an appropriate microchip identification (from 2014 Vet Regs 1027.4 "All horses registering with the FEI for the first time must be identifiable using a microchip and reader, compatible with ISO 11784 and ISO 11785."). For non-us riders and / or horse, all FEI entries require permission from the National Federation asserting qualification to ride in the upcoming event, and good standing with the National Federation. With the new on-line FEI entry system, this should be automatic, so the prior requirement of an email to ride manager or paper copy mailed ahead of time has been superceded. All horses and riders must be FEI registered for 2016. All (non-us) 1* and 2* horses must have a valid FEI passport. By USEF rules, even non-us riders MUST pay the USEF high performance fee, so it is buried in the entry fees already. However, in 2016, a horse / rider combination from Canada can claim an exemption of the $35 IHP fee, by filing a copy of the appropriate form with ride management (at time of registration in advance of arrival on site). NOTE: Florida law requires that all horses entering Florida from another State have a negative coggins within one year and health certificate not more than 30 days old. Horses from Florida being transported within the State will be required to have a negative coggins within one year. DIRECTIONS From the East: Take I 10 to exit 96 (Highway 81) in Ponce De Leon, FL.
