Camp registration forms are available from the 4-H Office. The camp fee is $200, but scholarships are available to those The 4-H Shooting Sports Club is staying busy during the summer months preparing for the State 4-H Shoot in September. The Shooting Sports meetings (6:30-8:30 p.m. @ Gun Club) & events are scheduled for: Thurs. June 15th Thurs. June 22nd Clean up meeting - bring supplies 6:30-8:30 p.m. The Todd County Invitational Trap & with financial need. Scholarship forms are available by request. A packet with additional forms and information will be handed out upon receiving your initial registration form. A $40 deposit is due by June 16th along with your form. Archery Shoot is on Saturday. The Todd County 4-H Project Days - July 25-27 The Todd County 4-H Fair (4-H exhibits) will take place in Elkton on July 25th 27th. 4-H members may exhibit 4-H project work ranging from fleece pillows to garden vegetables to wood projects, photography and paintings. Premiums will be paid to youth placing in the top 3 of a category. The 4-H members receiving champion for their work will show their project at the Kentucky State Fair in August. Projects created through the After School 4-H clubs can be exhibited as well as other projects that 4-H members created throughout the year. If you have a pencil drawing, a wood item, a baked good or any project that fits into the state fair categories, bring your 4-H project to the 4-H office on or before July 25th to have it judged and on display in the Todd County Courthouse. Turn in all project work by the morning of July 25th. Check out the enclosed 4-H project list and create your craft or masterpiece this month to exhibit in our Todd County 4-H Fair at the end of July. Also check out the Kentucky 4-H State Fair catalog. Christian County 4-H Horse Show is set for June 23rd at the Fair grounds in Hopkinsville. 4-H Horse Club members are welcome to come out to watch the show and support their club members. Dress up nights include: Disney Character Night, Minion night, super hero night, and red carpet dress up night At West Kentucky 4-H Camp, children have an opportunity to try new activities, meet new friends, practice leadership skills and so much more! The age range of our campers is 9-14 or graduates of 3rd 8th grade and teenagers may have an opportunity to come to camp as a Counselor-In-Training (CIT) or Teen Leader. Campers attend with other youth from their county and registration for camp is completed through the County 4-H Program. (see registration form on back) WHAT KINDS OF ACTIVITIES ARE AVAILABLE? Children have a variety of options for daily classes including: Archery, Riflery, Fishing, Canoeing, Cooking, Challenge Course, Crafts, Team Sports, and so much more! Afternoons bring opportunities for free-time games, a visit to the Country Store, and Swimming. Special Events and group dances are offered in the evenings. WHAT TYPE OF SUPERVISION IS PROVIDED? Camp Staff lead many of the morning classes as well as organized large group activities. Adult and Teen volunteers provide leadership to cabin groups as well as teaching and assisting with classes. A background check is completed on all staff and volunteers and all leaders go through a structured training in safety, leadership, and working with children. WHAT IF A CHILD IS SICK OR INJURED AT CAMP? A Healthcare Provider (EMT, Paramedic, or Nurse) is on staff and is available 24 hours a day. The Health Care Provider works with the 4-H Agent to determine appropriate care for sick or injured campers. Parents will be phoned in the event of an injury. Medications are administered by our HCP. WHAT FOOD IS AVAILABLE? Well-balanced meals are served at Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner and snacks are provided in the evenings. Camp forms are due June 16th Camp fee $200.00 (partial scholarships are available for those with financial need - forms available at the 4-H office) Bus transportation is provided from the Courthouse.
