Or find a friend to co-chair with you! Without your help, many of the programs the PFA provides will not be able to continue. This year s chairs welcome to people to work with them to make the transition easier. We are currently assessing our committees for next year, so keep checking back, as more will be added! Please join us for the annual Franklin Elementary Art Show and Ice Cream Social presented by Mrs. Pinkerton and your Franklin PFA on Thursday, March 26 th, 6:00-8:00pm. All Franklin families are invited to spend this evening viewing their children s creative artwork. Then, treat yourself to some Bruster s ice cream to sweeten the night! $3 cups of a variety of ice cream flavors will be sold on site that evening, cash only. (exact change is appreciated). Send them to the yearbook committee at: FranklinElementaryYearbook@gmail. com Save the Date Save the Date for the 6 th Annual Franklin Elementary Parents vs Staff Basketball Game! It will be held on Friday, April 17 at 7:00 pm at the Ingomar Middle School gym. Proceeds from this year s event will benefit The Shepherd s Door, an organization that provides backpacks filled with food to local needy school children, to sustain families in need over the weekends away from schoolprovided meals. Please see the posted flyer for more details. Tickets will be available at the door for $5 per person or $15 per family. Hope to see you there to cheer on our teams and help the community! Volunteers Needed We need you! We re currently staffing our Parent basketball team for the annual game against Franklin staff on Friday, April 17th. If you would like to play on the winning team this year, please email Mina Durosko at minadurosko@comcast.net, by Friday, March 27.

Information for currently enrolling programs is below. Additional programs will be offered throughout the spring. After School Games Attention 3 rd 5 th graders! Come learn how to play Checkers & Scrabble with Mrs. Diehl and Miss Price! This program runs Wednesdays, April 15, 22, 29, and May 6. Cost is $30. There is a minimum enrollment of 20 kids. To register, send in the After School Games form, along with payment, by April 1 st. Pick up will be at 4:15pm in the back via the kindergarten loop. Shake up a flask of fun in the lab as a junior chemist! This handson and interactive program is packed sold with cool reactions. Students put on goggles and change liquid to solid and back again. They get to handle laboratory tools, build and break molecules, and pick up some tricks on chemical changes. This program runs Wednesdays, April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20 & 27. Kick your creativity into high gear and come create some 3 dimensional art with Mrs. Pinkerton! This program runs Wednesdays, April 8, 15, 22 & 29 in the Art Room. Cost is $35 and includes supplies & equipment. Student pick up will be at 4:30pm in the back of the school via the kindergarten loop. Monday, March 23 rd at 7:00pm NASH auditorium (North Allegheny Senior High) PFA Members & FES staff thank you to all that signed up to be our scholarship evaluators. We will be having a meeting on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 8:15am in the school cafeteria. We will review the grading criteria and you will be given copies of the applications to evaluate. If you will not be able to attend the meeting, please let us know and we can make other arrangements. Our local library offers many fun, exciting & educational activities! Some upcoming events include: PBS Sunday PEG+CAT Mathapalooza Sunday, March 22, 2:00-3:00pm This program is for kids K-2 nd grade. Watch an episode of Peg+Cat, then participate in math games and activities. It all adds up to a good time! Registration is required. Celebrate April Fool s Day (a little late) with storyteller Mary Morgan Smith and her foolish friends. There is no registration for this family program. Some upcoming events include: Lunch with the Easter Bunny Saturday, March 28, 11:30am. The entire family will enjoy a lunch of hamburgers (vegan avail. by pre-order) or hot dogs, chips, a cookie & drink. After lunch, kids 12 & under can have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny, play a variety of games and work on a craft project. Cost is $6 per person. Registration is required by March 23 rd. Limited to the first 100 people. Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 28, 1:00pm. Be sure to bring a basket or bag for your filled eggs, candy & prize eggs! No registration is required for this event.
